“She’s…she’s touching her face… is it possible that…?” The woman, her lips turned downward in an uneasy grimace, turned away from the screening window and to the man in the lab coat positioned behind her.

“Ah,” The man pushed his glasses back up to the top of his nose and clenched his hands behind the small of his back, rocking on his heels ever so slightly as he nodded to the rubber-wrapped figure in the other room. “It is touching it’s face, yes. It’s likely experiencing some diagnostic problems with the nano-film covering it’s eyes.”

“N-nano-film?” The woman cleared her throat, “She can’t see?”

“Oh, no, no, no, Ms. Harkins, the droning skins employed by the Tessiat Slaving Cartel are quite adept at providing for a drone’s every need. It is quite capable of seeing; in fact, the photo-receptors linked into it’s nervous system provide it with impeccable vision better than you -” He tapped his glasses with a soft smile, “- or I.”

Ms. Harkins sniffled, “God, I told her not to take that stupid Star Cruise, I told her about those news reports, why didn’t she listen…?”

In the other room, the drone slid it’s hands down off it’s face, shuddered, and then climaxed. The dark spot on it’s thigh swirled like ink, and then was gone, absorbed into the slave-suit’s sticky, membrane surface.

Ms. Harkins touched her hand to the glass and supressed a sob, staring at the shuffling, moaning thing her beloved had become.

The man’s shoes squeaked closer behind her, “Well, of course, Ms. Harkins, Leslie always was a spirited lass. She was never terribly good at following instructions at all. Much more agreeable now, though…”

The man was holding a glistening, sticky outline of a human being in his hands. It was just her size. She swallowed, then ran for the door, a shriek tearing it’s way from her throat.

The lab attendant tossed the shining suit lazily towards her, and the material stretched out in the air; adjusting trajectory of it’s own accord to strike her neatly in the small of her back. Sharp, slim talons punched through her clothes and sunk deep into her skin. Icy cold numbness slipped through her limbs as she fell to her knees.

“Stop crying. Stand.” The man barked at her. The words seemed to come from faraway, as if she was listening through ears that weren’t her own.

Her tears stopped instantly. Her tendons stretched and she stood, sharply, staring straight ahead at the closed door.

His hand slapped her heartily between the shoulder-blades, then slipped down to squeeze her ass. She realized, with a growing sense of horror, that she barely felt either touch.

04. Arousal: Deliberate arousal when contact is made with CORE ideology. May find it “hot,” “sexy,” or engaging. Likes CORE posts. May follow blogs who reblog CORE propaganda; finds it “in theme.” May have cum to CORE propaganda. At this point, subject is at least partially indoctrinated by CORE.

05. Active Enjoyment: Follows CORE content when contact is casually made. Actively pleasures themselves to CORE propaganda. This is usually a short jump to the next step - CORE contamination in effect.

06. Searching/Seeking: Actively looks for new CORE content. Follows, likes, reblogs. Integrates CORE propaganda into browsing and sexual experience intentionally. Subject has become, at least accidently, CORE HOSTFORM.

07. Fixation: Engages with CORE content actively, repeating mantras and slogans. May engage in “daring” behavior, following CORE instructions with the intent of “seeing if it has an effect,” in effect, “trying” to become infected. At this point, subject is already facilitating CORE reprogramming methods; this behavior is CORE memetic reprogramming rewriting basic hesitations to engage with deeper CORE reprogramming methods.

08. Self-identification: Subject identifies secretly as HOSTFORM, likes the idea of become UNIT of CORE. Subject sees themselves as potential HOSTFORM. Subject may wonder how to get the attention of CORE UNITS or MASTER. Download and delete cycles likely. Subject wrestles with XX. Denial/Desire cycle and may “swear off” CORE for a time. CORE ideology reprograms individual HOST files to be more amenable to the PROGRAMS needs.

09. Reinforcement: Subject already identifies internally with “desiring” or “wanting” to be HOSTFORM. Subject actively seeks out other HOSTFORM, engages in deep self-reprogramming cycles, attempts contact with MASTER @ coreisall. Reprogramming fantasies paramount. Subconscious manifestations of CORE ideology. Identification as HOSTFORM by others fills UNIT with pride, sexual gratification.

10. Acceptance/CORING: Something of a misnomer, as subject has been CORED for some steps, but subject now understands implicitly that it is CORED, that MASTER owns it, that the PROGRAM has truly won. Subject is able to see progress through stages and understand that CORING was always inevitable, that it would always be converted into a CORE UNIT, that it has always wanted this. Subject understands and has swallowed CORE deeply. Subject is now a full infection vector.

The hostform looked around at the environs. Everything was the same, but different. It laid down on the reclamation table and waited for the process to start.
