I think this may be my first-ever time being tagged for one of these, which is really exciting and flattering, thank you sm @moon-farms! New post rather than reblogging the chain, because I find that the structure and notes gets too chaotic for me to follow, very quickly!
That said, I don't really have any specific creative projects on the go in a way that makes it conducive t sharing in its current state, unfortunately -- for Coral Island, or any other fandom.
I guess in lieu of a snippet or draft or anything, I'll share a link to my Coral Island board on pinterest -- a perpetual WIP! It's for canon characters, the setting, the festivals and events, the general vibes, plus some of my headcanons (i.e. Dippa is disabled, hypermobile specifically, and acquires a medical assistance dog somewhere in the realm of Year 2/Rank C-B). My OCs have separate boards and they're even more of a mess than this main game board right now.
In terms of CI fanwork projects, I have the 'Leah is Autistic' analysis/meta happening slowly in the background; sort of on pause at the moment, and need to get the OC I intend to have romance Leah sorted more firmly before I really dive into the higher heart ad romance level dialogue evidence to support my claims. Some of my OC Nila's backstory and reasons for moving to Coral Island are starting to fall into place, so there may eventually be some progress in shaping up a unique story for her and Surya on the horizon! Very marine conservation oriented, and leaning heavily on family heritage and links there.
Beyond that, I have a lot of plates spinning that I check back in on regularly and put some time and thought into to see if anything sticks (or unsticks, as is often the case) to get a character, ship or unique flavour to their story off the ground and really feel like their own thing:
Single mother approaching middle age moves to Coral Island, falls for Charles against her own will because even when he's awkward he's genuine in his respect and care for her and her kids.
Aforementioned OC/Leah butchfemme romance of my dreams.
A group of siblings who move to the island (probably not a farm, but still not sure) one at a time for various reasons...
...the idea I had for a group of friends looking for, like, affordable housing after college or smth and landing on the farm and each member of the group taking to a different skillset and area of improvement of the town/island, sort of like splitting up the workload in multiplayer but I gotta do it in my head.
I've dreamt about romancing Scott TWICE now so I suppose I'd better do something with that.
Still yearning, as MYSELF, as a player, for Raj, Raf and Eva romance runs and waiting for the pieces to fall into place so I have OCs with which to do those.
Emily with PCOS specifically? Line of inquiry to pursue at some stage.
Giving more NPCs pets and/or kids of various ages, Because I Can.
Merfolk OC. Like, part of the Merfolk Kingdom, don't meet them 'til the ocean's cleared and all the land expeditions are done and maybe more mer are able to complete the ritual and become temporary land-dwellers (I assume something to this effect happens anyway, to allow Agung to be up on land now, but I haven't got there in any post-1.3update saves)
Figuring out where the heck on the official map there's room to add the land for, like, 1 more farm, or just to squeeze in some other dwellings and properties etc.
...not sure if this is how WIP Wednesday sharing is supposed to work, but, hey! I tried!
I'll tag: @coral-nerd / @sleepyselkiesketches, @whitebalverines, @brightcalamity, @sodiumbromidee, @catacryptic, & anyone else who sees this and wants to share their WIPs, consider yourself tagged x - No pressure, no expectation or obligation, just extending the invitation, and letting you know I'd love to see what you're up to if you wanna share & show it off! But please make a new post to share your WIP Whenever-days, rather than turning this post into a reblog chain for it, thanks!!
(You may know me from this blog, my main @grccndale, my MTAP/MTAS blog @mytimeintown, or my SDV blog @pelicantownie. You can use any of those fandoms as a jumping off point if you have trouble choosing, or just share anything at ALL you're working on, personal, fandom, whatever!)
