Wolf OC Infodump Hellhole

Hello all! My name is Monroe. I’m 25 and decided to make this blog to dump all the art and notes and such for the story I’m writing. It’s currently untitled and the first ever iteration of it was made up when I was in 8th grade. It’s gone through many changes and rewrites over the years and I am currently in the middle of writing a second draft. The plot is centered around two warring groups of wolves and isn't set anywhere specific, though the setting is based on north america.

Some notes:

There are two main groups in this story. The first is The Pack of the Charred Oak, the only remaining standalone pack in the southern forest. It is much smaller than its rival The Kingdom of Shaded Pines, a massive group made up of wolves from the conquered packs that once held territory in the rest of the forest. I will be making a post with the differing customs of each group, which I will add to this post when completed.

- some things, such as coat colors and parts of social structure, are not accurate to real life. This is intentional, as this is a fantasy universe. The wolves, while based on north american gray wolves, will have features (like coat colors or markings) that are not accurate to wolves in real life, or are seen in wolves of other species

Spent the weekend making a chart of the entire Oak pack. Mainly for keeping everyone’s facial structures straight, but I figured I’d drop it here anyway.

Me yesterday: I should make a chart of all my characters in their respective groups so I can keep their facial structures straight

Me currently: wishing for the sweet release of death less than halfway through the sketch layer of the first page

Remember like 4 months ago when I said I’d draw Fox and Alder’s kids and then didn’t? Here you go.

They used to have a third sibling in an early draft who I cut because she just kind of took up space without doing anything, but these two are minor characters regardless.

She’s finally shown up in the writing which means she’s now legally required to have a reference sheet

Alder and Fox! I mostly drew this to keep Alder’s design straight. They were initially mates in my first draft but I’ve since decided they’re just close friends who had a one night stand sort of situation just to see if it’d stick (which is how they got the two kids they have). So far it’s not really mentioned within the text apart from Bear being mildly surprised they aren’t expecting a second litter.

The leaders den is very small and is essentially just a bunch of rocks that fell together in a kind of lean-to situation. It has enough space for the leaders and a litter of pups

The healers den is dug under the roots of a tree and has some lichen hanging over the entrance

When worrying shit is happening at home but the only unoccupied relative is the aunt who can’t comfortably show vulnerability

Reference for Aldric. I tried to give him more rounded features to make him resemble his dad a bit.
