Cooper Athan Tracy

Darcy nodded.  She was perfectly okay with that and she knew that Cooper was capable of letting her know one way or another.  If he needed advice or direction on which book to select, she had no doubt he’d ask for it. She certainly had plenty of options so finding a decent one shouldn’t be that hard. “I’m sure you’d be able to do it,” she admitted with a small smile.  “Trey Wright and yes. He’s a vet.  A good one from what I hear.”  She knew plenty of people around town though, aside from just the handful she was related to and was happy to make introductions, wherever necessary.  “I think we’ll leave that for another day. The movie is about all I have capacity for but now is fine. Just don’t get mad if I knock off after a bit because work has been taking all my energy.”

“Hopefully!” He grinned excitedly. “Trey? I haven’t met him. But if I do, I’ll ask him about the books.” Cooper couldn’t wait to meet more people around town. “Okay! Let’s go to your house and watch. Don’t worry, if you fall asleep we can start the movie over when you wake up.” Cooper joked, starting to walk in the direction of her home. “Also, what’ve you been up to in the last two years? Have you done anything awesome, or amazing?”

“Thank you. I’m glad you liked them.” Came Ali’s gracious response, relief descending as she watched the man consuming the baked goods. “I was bored, and I wanted some sugar, so I baked.” She offered up her right hand for a handshake. “It’s nice to meet you, Cooper. Do you live around here?”

“Ah.” He grabbed another out of the box. “I usually bake when I’m feeling lonely. Normally cupcakes, or lemon bars.” He smiled and shook her hand. “Nice to meet you, too. Yeah, I live in Historical Downtown! What about you?” 

“I don’t think that’s true.” Sanaya scrunched her nose and watch the male in disbelief. “At least not the marrying part. I could use the appetizer, though.” Her lips twitched after the statement was made.

“Well, we’ll wait and see!!” He replied excitedly. “Do you not want to get married?” Cooper asked curiously. “Okay. What kind of appetizer? Something fried or baked?”

Those streaming services are going to be the reason why no one owns DVDs anymore. Not that I can complain too much seeing that I’m also partially responsible. The bulldog was also a great addition to the movie. Another one of my favorites is Tito. Uh, the third was not one of my favorites. If it doesn’t have Rachel Weisz, then I’m not watching it.

Yeah. Most people don’t own them now, I feel. Except for Charlie. He has a collection that he keeps in the cabinet under his TV. Tito was funny. Oh yeah. Rachel Weisz was amazing. And she’s super pretty. Everyone in that movie was pretty.

I hope that you enjoy it! I have to be truthful, I have absolutely no idea what movies are currently out. I have been a little preoccupied to go to the movies lately, but that sounds like a great time! As for the theater itself, it is pretty nice. Typical small town, it is a nice hang out.

Thanks!! Me either. I only know of The Invitation and Nope. I saw Nope two weeks ago. It was super interesting! 

I get that. I get preoccupied too, sometimes. You gotta make time to get the snacks, previews, the actual movie, and then pizza after to discuss the movie. Okay, good to know. I’m Cooper, by the way. 

“Subjective, yeah,” Darrius grinned when the word came to him. And it was true, what was art in someone else’s eyes was just… bad all the way around to someone else. And that was okay, that was how things worked. In the art world, in the film world, probably even in the world of coffee as their conversation drifted that way. “Because it’s Italian for American coffee,” he laughed as he answered. “Well, caffè americano, anyway.”

“Thats a good word.” He nods. “Wait, did coffee originally come from Italy, or something?” Cooper asked, furrowing his brows slightly. “Why does Starbucks use Italian words, too?” He was genuinely curious. 

You obviously have a great taste in movies. I call dibs on Oliver & Company, though. It’s been years since I watched it, and my favorite has always been Dodger. I hate to say that I don’t have a lot of movies to switch besides the Mummy 1 and 2, Bad Boys, and Die Hard.

Thanks! I had way more before, but I’m going to try the streaming services now. Oliver & Company, gotcha. My favorite was Oliver, but also Francis, the bulldog. The Mummy 1 and 2! I choose those two. I love everything about those movies. Why don’t you have the third?” 

“Dancing? I’m not saying no but are we talking before or after your inevitable brain freeze?” She said, one foot off the stool now when she took back a little more of her shot herself. Feeling the burn she shimmied and made a face at the contents again, this time without said lime but a wonderful buffer to what was coming next it seemed, “And I like Sting, I like The Police more.”

“Before! Dancing will warm me up and prevent the freezing from happening.” He reasoned before following the girl’s lead and taking more of the shot as well. A similar face as it went down. Then he went ahead and ordered the strawberry margaritas. “Uh… What The Police song do you like best?”

“I beg to differ that it’s not a Shrek 2 kind of night. It’s always a Shrek 2 kind of night.” Mavi eyed the Cooper in front of her, her long brown hair swishing behind her head as her fingers connected with it. “But, I have Pitch Perfect, Hereditary, all the Saw movies, Bridesmaids, and Kingsman. Your pick.”

“But I prefer watching Shrek 2 in the daytime.” Cooper explained. “Okay. I’ll go with…. Bridesmaids! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it all the way through. Also, do you really really like the Saw movies? I like how they have plot twists!”

“I actually have all of them so no need to swap. I watch a lot of cinema when I’m not working. It gives me something to look forward to. I could lend you my copy of Holes and I could lend you my copy of The Conjuring.” He smiled softly at the other. “I’m Keegan. Pleasure to meet you.”

"Okay, cool! Me too. I love movies. Sometimes I watch them at work. What do you do for work?” He asked curiously. “Perfect! I love The Conjuring. I still haven’t seen the second or third one, for some reason. And I can’t wait to watch Holes. I don’t know what happened to my copy.” He ponders. It was one of his favorites, and he wouldn’t have left that one behind. “Cool name. And thank you!” 

“Mm, that did get some pretty rocky reviews, didn’t it?” he asked with a shake of his head. “I think sometimes that’s one of the most interesting things about movies, though. One person can give it the worst review, and the other is going to say that it’s amazing,” and no one was right or wrong, it was all opinion. But still kind of wild. Letting out a laugh as Cooper mentioned coffee in the morning, he looked down at the movie in his hand. “I think I could probably swing that.”

“I think most people liked the second one, but not the first.” Cooper was still unsure it was supposed to be a sequel or reboot, but he simply referred to them as the first and second. “I liked the music in the first.” He recalled. “Oh yeah. Definitely! There’s a word for that, right?” A brief pause. “Subjective?” He smiled at the other’s agreement for coffee. “Awesome! Do you know why it’s called an Americano?” 

I did! I’m pretty excited. It looks awesome, and it’s about time they made a sequel. This movie is iconic. I’m going to watch it either way. I don’t think I’ve even seen it but it’s also iconic in its own way. I forgot there’s a Smurf movie, so let’s say the other one, that Avatar one. It had those pretty trees and all that.

Do you think the movie will have another talking cat? Do you want to watch Terminator with me? Also, have you seen The Incredibles 2? It was iconic in its own way. Edna Mode was still the best character IMO. It’s okay, I think most people forget about the Smurfs since Avatar came out. It also had Sigourney Weaver. I love Sigourney Weaver in anything. Especially in Holes, and Alien, and Ghostbusters, and Wall-E, and everything else. 

“Wait a second – every night could be a Shrek 2 or a Catwoman kind of night! Granted, Hocus Pocus isn’t something you can watch anytime, it’s better during Halloween. But the other two? Come on, they’re perfect all the time!”

“Okay, first of all. Can I just say you’re the prettiest person I’ve ever seen all month? Secondly, you may be right. They’re both movies I don’t think about watching but if they’re on then I be drawn in and watch them all the way through. I might do that. Also, hi. I’m Cooper.”  

Jacob could not help but furrow his brows in concern when the other described the strange events that occurred in his hometown, and while he tried not to think much of it, he understood why those movies seemed to be so important to him. “That’s understandable.” He agreed with a nod of his head, his lips curling into a small smile before he let out a sigh and shook his head. “I’m pretty sure it’s considered illegal to share streaming services with anyone who’s not your immediate family, and I wouldn’t be so sure about that since we’re strangers.” Either way, he still wouldn’t share his streaming services with anyone. “I’m Jake.”

“Yeah. Luckily nothing ever mysteriously happened to TVs or movie players.” Though, he was sure he’d be able to find some other way to entertain himself if it had happened. “I hope this town isn’t like that. I’m really liking it here so far. Everyone is super nice.” Cooper smiled. “Okay, so streaming services are sort of like secrets and old recipes.” He comments understandingly. “Nice to meet you, Jake. Are you the mayor here?”
