i don't know who needs to hear this, but guilt, self-hatred and shame are not sustainable sources of growth and healing. you can't hate yourself into feeling better, or being better. you can't repeatedly punish yourself for your flawed humanity and expect wholesome results.

i have been seeing a psych for ages and he tells me this in new ways every week for two hours and i tell him i really would like to not be this way but sometimes you've been just sort of raised to feel one way forever. 28 sooner than i realize. death creeping ever closer.
