The 9/11 memorial is crowded with tourists taking pictures, dropping trash, ashing their cigarettes on anyone shorter than themselves. There's a half built Greek Orthodox Church overlooking the south pool, and police barricades interwoven with construction barricades, and people who spit and people who eat while they lumber around looking exhausted because they've tried to fit all of New York City into a weekend. But Talia was once again captivated by the water, the flowers and flags and handwritten notes tucked into the names on the barrier that surrounds the pool. And so we circled for a while, craning our necks to try to see if we could see where the water stops falling. (at National September 11 Memorial & Museum)
