While tumblr has historically not been the best about listening to user criticism and rolling back unpopular changes, I do think there’s (understandably) been a pretty unprecedented level of user pushback for this one, and if we’re smart about this, I think we can unfuck this website! This is by no means a complete list of what to do, but they’re a few good options. 

Keep the comments going on Tumblr’s announcement post for these changes. This is the least effective, but dropping a single comment on this each day is remarkably easy, and a big number here will show how unpopular this all is.

Send in support tickets under the “feedback” category here. This is the best way to make sure that tumblr actually sees your complaints, and a large number of these will likely get corporate's attention. 

Leave negative reviews on whichever storefront you downloaded the Tumblr app through talking about this specific issue. Reviewbomb the shit out of the app until this change has been reversed, as that’s likely to hit Tumblr right in the income. 

Speaking of Tumblr’s income, I’d recommend making them as little money as possible while these changes are in place. Browse primarily with an addblocker of some sort in place, don’t engage in any of Tumblr’s promotional gimmicks, cut off any donations, premium services, Tumblr Blaze usage or other paid services. 

Spread this info around. Whether you’re reblogging this post, sharing another one like it or making your own, the more people who can get in on doing this, the better. 

Repeat the process. These are most effective if you keep them going. Send comments and support tickets once a day each and keep those payments cut off. 

Finally, I’d like to also provide a script to help with contacting tumblr! Feel free to use this for your comments, support tickets or other communications, though I do recommend modifying it a bit when you use it so that staff doesn’t get weird about repetitively worded messages.
