like, don’t get me wrong: I absolutely *adore* this silly little cookie, and even seeing him fail over and over in the most pathetic ways, only to come back and try again has always been endearing to me…but I feel like there’s a lot to his character that’s overlooked for the sake of him being the “sad pathetic cringe-fail”

I mean, let’s review here:

Licorice Cookie grew up in the Licorice Village, a tribe in the Dark Cacao Kingdom, meaning he’s lived through harsh conditions both in terms of weather and presumably poverty. not to mention, his *entire* tribe is gone. with the Coffee Tribe, we know that they left, but what happened to the Licorice Tribe? did they leave too? did they die out? does that mean everyone that Licorice Cookie might have considered a biological relative or even just friends in general are dead or gone? The Licorice Tribe is probably the tribe we know the *least* about, since it’s not even in the art book along with other tribes

Licorice Cookie can summon the monsters of the Licorice Sea, which has constantly been regarded as this deep abyss of darkness, but WHY can he? What is Licorice Cookie’s connection to the Licorice Sea? I mean, besides the obvious- He himself stated that he spent years trying to get away from it, but is that just because he wanted to leave his homeland or because of something specific with the sea? Either way, what drove Licorice Cookie to want to leave?

Now for the power that everyone knows him by, his necromancy. He can revive things from the dead, which is an incredible feat. I mean, we have Elemental Guardians that are tasked with upholding Nature’s balance; is necromancy not in itself disrupting that balance? He knows about the essence and workings of Life Powder, probably from learning necromancy — I mean, who knows how much he’s studied to master this? How much skill he has to posses? — and in a sense, he probably has to trap Life Powder to put it into his minions to revive them, something that is said to be difficult to do

And he learned *all* of this because he was denied the support and recognition he wanted/needed to become a wizard! With that being said, why did no-one believe in him? Clearly he can do some incredible things: he could honestly be one of the most powerful wizards out there!

Either way, he mastered so many skills despite everyone constantly pushing him down, magical or not. I love his silly personality, but I wished more people (and the game) also acknowledge just how powerful and strong Licorice Cookie really is!

all of this is to say I hope we see more of the Cookies of Darkness and get into more of their backstories, specifically Licorice Cookie’s because gOD do I need him to be taken seriously at least once-

Devsis gave us a static world and almost static characters. I don't like PV and I hate WL cus they feel so... flat. WL feels more of a "well, we gotta have all FIVE of them!" addition rather than something that makes sense. It would be so cool if WL was truly DE now, DE could be more of an antihero than straight up villain. What if she helped release the beasts thinking they'd help her confront the witches! We could have a dynamic character that ACTUALLY CHANGED WITH THE STORY!

Somehow, their PV favoritism also leads to Holly and Cacao feeling like better characters. Holly visibly regrets leaving, she feels guilty about not being there as Princess's grandmother! She's cheery, but also worries, she's pretty much an alcoholic in any sense of the word. Cacao hates himself for not raising his son well enough, but ends up learning to accept that and let himself enjoy life again.

Pure Vanilla? He suffers and always seems like a pretty little pacifist cus the hints are so hard to see you need a blacklight. He has so much hidden depth that I can't even like him as much as I want because the story barely explores any of it!

If this is about "profits" or something, I want to personally slap whoever's doing this in the face because they wouldn't have to censor beautiful stories if they had MORE PHYSICAL, NON LIMITED MERCH.

You know how fast the Shadow Milk plush sold out? FIVE MINUTES! PEOPLE CLEARLY WANT MORE! HELL, I'D READ PHYSICAL COPIES OF LINZER'S BOOKS, I'D BUY MORE PLUSHIES, OUTFITS, DINNER WEAR, YOU KNOW HOW MANY FANS THERE ARE?? 8 MILLION players in kingdom alone. Even if only a fraction would buy the merch, THAT'S STILL A LOT!

They have all these opportunities to take risks that would HELP the game and the company, but NEVER DO. It's infuriating!

My half baked, two year old au that's barely complete because of how complicated it is has BETTER CHARACTERS! AND THERE'S ALMOST 600 OF THEM!

But honestly cookie run kingdom hasn’t given me any updates I’m actually interested in yes. I love getting new cookies I can give labels like femboy but… the stories don’t interest me. I want more cookies from the past getting focus. The last update that genuinely interested me was burning spice’s because that gave me an npc cookie as a player.

I wish that in between the beast updates they would go back and show us how cookies are effected by beasts. Bc all we got was that tease from mystic flour

Devsisters is far to focused on adding cookies than building them. Which yeah I get. It’s a growing game but like…. It’s boring. When you are offered a “brand new shiny thing” eventually that “brand new shiny thing” isn’t going to be interesting.

But ima be perfectly honest I completely skipped the tri cup trio’s new year update thing so maybe I don’t get a say in anything
