I hang my head

lowly as a stolen silver pig

To imagine

I’d carry even

A spoonful of

Desire

For a ghost

I could see through miles

of light slivered off

Miles of dead unsolvable light

I could blow back the metal screaming particles

into fractals with voiced bodies

Some fine whistling dust

kept in a sting ray coin-purse

And even with the pulsing

And the veins opened

And the streams all meeting into the frozen sea

Through each amoeba and tadpole

Born into it

I watch you glow

And rise from the dugout

Two black eyes

Sunken apple lunches

in her cup of pure gymnasium water

The reflection of rage

We blew smoke

behind the building together

And when it was her turn to climb

the infinite rope

They all watched from the hallway

Her voice tinned over

Out a pale metal speaker

A starling-rolling-spasm

A Big Blue mat stretched cold

In turning over every stone 

I missed the bus

And in my waiting hours 

Found a kind of Laughter
