Six Foot Track - Part 1

Empress falls canyoning... but from last weekend which was a reward to ourselves for completing the Six Foot Track hike. Unfortunately I didn’t have a waterproof camera to take footage of the swimming/running through the canyon or the abseil down the waterfall, but this has got to be one of the funnest things I’ve ever done! (at Wentworth Falls, New South Wales)

Starlight’s Circuit overnight hike. A few wrong turns here & there (when do we not though), forgotten crockery, powdered milk and camp shoes (sam had his slippers so I wore his hiking boots as my feet were so swollen), restless sleep due to poor wardrobe choices & winter nights, hangry possum attempting to break into tent, feeling old age in the joints & tender spots, discovering a new favourite camping food (chorizo & potato fried topped with cheese), ridiculously amazing views after a slog of a climb out. All in all that was our hike, roughly 10kms the first day and 15kms today. A long hot bath topped off a great couple of days.

Fantastic walk yesterday along the Box Vale Loop. 11kms turned into 15km with bouts of hangry because I didn’t pack a proper lunch thinking we wouldn’t take too long.. rookie era (I should know by now). The very dry conditions meant it was a leech free event as well! This hike was beautiful and well worth the 580m cable climb out. Next time I’d pack swimmers (and more food & water) as there are so many great swimming spots. (at Box Vale Track)
