🌞 Sunlight isn’t required here, the glow was woven in centuries ago. In the Yellow Room of the Galleria Doria Pamphilj, luminous tapestries from the famed Gobelins Manufactory cover the walls, showing the allegories of the twelve months set against a rich yellow background that defines the entire space. 🖼️ Around 1795, architect Francesco Bettini redesigned the room for Giuseppe Doria Pamphilj, brother of Andrea IV Doria Pamphilj, adapting earlier late Baroque elements and aligning the wall decoration with the ceiling. Above, Gioacchino Agricola’s Rebecca at the well completes a compact but carefully arranged interior where colour, tapestry, and structure are closely coordinated. | by castleholic
