Mal knocked on Connie's door. Their first meeting had been a little awkward, and Mal was hoping to make up for it now that Chroma and Kenos were behaving at least a little better. They leaned against their cane, putting on their most confident smile.
"Hello there! Thought I'd stop by for a visit."
The door opened gently, connie smiled widened as she saw mal, her little tail wagging happily as she floated up into the air again and opening the door fully
“Hey mal, chroma, kenos, glad to see you all here!”
She trilled a little as she let them in, her house has seen some slight redecorating, like she just had a sleepover recently and forgot to clean up
“Glad to have ya!”
"Thanks!"
Mal hobbled inside, their two tails looking around.
"Looks like someone had fun~"
Chroma gave a mischievous grin. Or at least attempted to in his current tail form. Mal leaned against the wall and pulled a small plastic bag out of their pocket. Inside were tiny silver coin-like batteries.
"Here, a gift. These are a little sweeter than the typical double As. I had a gift bag, but Kenos ate it."
Kenos tilted her head.
"Paper and plastic have a good texture."
Mal rolled their eyes. At least she didn't eat the batteries.
“Heheheh thanks! And yeah had some fun with mama and her version of j v and n arrived…their stuck fused together”
She says casually as she munches on the double aa batterys, smiling
“So how has things been going with op and how did the meeting with aiya go! I wanna hear the details of it, if that is okay with you three ehehehe”
"Three people in one, huh? Sounds familiar."
Mal chuckled, taking a seat. They'd have to see if they could meet this Tessa and her fused friends sometime.
"Everything went pretty smoothly. Op gave us some body mods to make Chroma and Kenos more comfortable, and Aiya showered us with gifts and followed it up with flying lessons. You've got some generous friends."
"I have Iottle's bones. He will be gawked at behind glass, as he deserves."
Kenos seemed proud of herself.
"We're bringing that up right off the bat, huh?"
Mal frowned.
"I don't see why it's much different that any other human's bones, but you do you~"
“Iottle bones being set-up is a funny thought though, at least to me, and glad to hear op set you all up to be able to switch properly as well as aiya showing her generosity hehehe”
She said, smiling at the idea of the scientist who created her, aiya, and op, as well as the factor of her lab sisters were doing good
“Aiya is a benevolent being, despite originally being a virus, she likes using her access to a version of the internet, to gift those she likes with personal stuff, get them ready so they may be able to get used to this weird world we live in of possibilities”
She floated over to a seat and set her feet on the ground in a nice comfy chair
“Though I heard the quantity and quality you three got was extra special”
"We're lucky to be surrounded by good people."
Mal leaned back, relaxing with a sigh.
"I'm getting along with Chroma and Kenos better thanks to you and the others."
Mal nudged Kenos with their foot. She had started gnawing on the chair.
"Hey! Do you need a bone or something? What's your deal?"
"It's boring to be a tail."
"You'll have your turn soon."
"..."
Kenos listened, at least for the moment.
"See? We are a tame as ever."
Chroma said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
She giggled, a cute little sound
“I think it’s good you three have had some time to talk amongst yourselves about this, and with some help some op, you’ve managed to add some flair to this new state of life of yours, though I must admit, all of this has been something”
She said with a smile, then pondered, grabbing herself a a cup of oil with her arms, as they hovered away from her own body as she added whip cream to both of them and brought over both cups, one for herself, and one for mal and crew, taking a thoughtful sip before speaking again
“Though that said, I do wonder, something about you mal…if not too intrusive, as I float to deal with my problem but…how come you need a cane or a wheel chair?”
Which makes them all realize…they’ve barely seen her touch her feet to the ground except when sitting
Mal took the drink gratefully. They cupped their hands around the mug. They were quiet for a moment, thinking.
“It’s a defect I was manufactured with. Something deep inside that can’t easily be repaired. My joints are loose, and it can be painful to move around sometimes. I guess it might be similar to something I heard Cyn had before… all that.”
Mal wasn’t totally sure how to address the whole Cyn situation. They weren’t close to anyone involved. They were sort of a background character in that way. If anything, Connie would know way more.
“Sorry to derail. The point I meant to make is that some days it hurts more than others, and I need extra support.”
“Some days they don’t even need the cane!”
“Buuuut I always carry it around. Just in case.”
“You could use your wings.”
“In an emergency, sure, but my cane’s my cane. It’s handy dandy! Plus, it was a gift.”
She sipped her own drink, thoughtfully, looking into it before talking and letting the three quiet down before speaking
“As you three recall…I was intentionally made damaged…my parts and such were scavenged and ensured each and every single one was pretty damaged but still could function, each and every part, every rusted bolt, even my voice modulator, before mama gained admin over me, was pretty banged up…but even with my healing in my own hands and being able to turn into my own true form…the parts aren’t fully fixed still, it’s fixed but..only slightly, my feet and legs still hurt when I touch the ground, I can still feel the rust on some of my teeth and my magnets, the way it all just…feels off, even if it hurts less, my mind registers it the same…despite it being lessened, I do my best to limit my time walking cus of it…only do I walk when disguised as some other drone which I…should probably stop doing with my choice of disguise…eheh”
She softly looked into her oil
“Im sure in time my legs will fully heal but with all my healing has to do…it’s…a long way to go…and I’ll probably have to learn to walk anyhow, solver weight distribution is…funky”
She looked at mal calmly, a soft smile
“Im glad to see you have some aid’s for yourself”
"Baby steps. Literally."
Mal grinned back at Connie.
"I was wondering about the floating. It's nice to think we have a bit of a kinship here. If you'd ever like an assistive device please don't hesitate to reach out. I have plenty of connections."
"I think Oprcubhmm would likely handle the issue before you."
"Maybe, but it's nice to offer."
Mal thought to themselves. If they could heal like Connie, would they? The pain wasn't fun, that was true, but they'd adapted to the life they'd been given. They were proud of their perseverance, so it was an interesting question indeed.
"I wish I could shapeshift, just for the sake of Chroma and Kenos, honestly. I am very much thankful for the body mods I received, and I know they are too."
Kenos gave a slight nod.
“It was something op brought up but she didn’t wanna risk hurting me in the process, all the rust and such, as well as her inexperience at the time, it was a bad combo”
She thought on the mention of it
“And one day I may ask for a assistive device, it may help the process and such”
She looked curiously at all of them of her guests before her, wondering what to ask next before she nodded to herself
“Well, if I may ask a bit of a odd question, what has been each of your favorite moments of meeting me and my sisters, one at a time though heheh”
"I'll keep that in mind."
Mal nodded.
Chroma began to pipe up, but Kenos was quick to cut him off.
"I'm first."
Annoyed, Chroma huffed and layed on his pillow.
"I liked Aiya. Much less annoying than Chroma."

"Your home is cozy. You are interesting. The oil is good."
Finally:
"Oprcubhmm put us to menial work, but I get food, so I will not complain. The modifications make up for it."
"very fair points to each of them, including myself, oppy does tend to send some people on fetch quests if she herself has to make sure the prototype of her design works with minimal parts so when it actually is attached it works out, I am glad to hear that about aiya, she does tend to enjoy her gifts being worthy, and as for me, glad I am interesting enough as is and that the oil is to your liking"

It had been some time after TessCyn had gone through her protocol in front of Consumatia, yet she still refuses to open up or really acknowledge that it's an issue. Even with WDF attempting to defend the underground Cathedral from the duo, they weren't much of a match for them! However, she suddenly found herself to be damaged for once after putting herself between Consumatia and a WDF drone's gun, hissing in pain.

The sounds that the wdf heard next were like an animalistic cry of a child that had just saw it’s mother hurt, she lunged forth in speed and anger

Her eye lights look away from Consumatia's after dropping her blade, seemingly not intent on fighting her partner in genocide. Even if TessCyn seems to disagree with her views, in the end...
"What a-am I even supposed to do here? Beeeeee nice and play the antithesis of everything I've accomplished?"
“You can tell people to fuck off and leave you alone now and people will listen, you can make your own rules, who cares if their hypocritical when you have the power, you can choose to be more, no one knows your origins, no one knows what you look like”
She gently cupped and smiled at solver’s face
“No more programming goals to hold you back, you can go as wild or as docile as you like and no one can say otherwise”
TessCyn's head flinches away from the other's touch, grabbing Consumatia by the wrist as the other hand moves to instinctively press against her partner-in-genocide's throat, staring her down. No real pressure was being applied though, mainly just a wary show of control over... whatever was happening here.
"Skeptical tone- I suppose I c-could see an example of this... path, like you ssssaid. I have always had the po-ower, after all."
The show of control did not discourage her, if anything it made her nod and continue as if it was normal thing, no reaction to the factor the show
“A better thing to demonstrate then to do anything else”
She looked at her fused trophy of serial designation bb, staring and thinking
“No more rules, no more reasons, you can be anything”
Her hand tightens around the other's neck slightly, speaking through gritted teeth.
"I've always m-made my own rules..."
TessCyn releases Consumatia moments later and shrugs, the malice being diluted within the whimsy of her actions. Her Xs turned into straight lines as she 'closed' her 'eyes' as well.
"Pilot us thereeeeee and I will attempt what you suggested."
“As you wish”
She starts up the ship responsively and gets it going, dropping off something before heading to the next planet, readying the lives of the two together, a fresh start, a fresh anything, free to do as they pleased, she was ready for this, she was finally with the one that those stupid scientists ”warned” her about yet feared that a maternal reaction would happen if it was caught and that damn dr craftmin zelle iottle-
She stops herself and takes a deep breath as she continues flying
“Thank you for considering my suggestion”
She said quietly, seemingly afraid not of solver, but from something else, from a past experience of a human seemingly from what tesscyn slightly remembered of her spider’s story…hm
After being thanked by her ally, TessCyn rolled her eye lights and turned away from Consumatia. The lack of fear shown by her was... annoying to a degree. Being feared means you're being respected after all! However, this one actively sought her out and aided her purpose while still 'helping' her now... She ends up staring at the odd drone as the ship is piloted, unsure what to make of her.
She was strange that was for sure, the way her origin was said from what little TessCyn to grab from cyn’s memories during the switch back and the homebase that her and consumatia were leaving to dust, Consumatia had been intentionally put at the bottom of a manmade pit, and judging by what TessCyn saw, it was akin to where cyn and solver made their deal, an odd replica almost, consumatia seemed to yearn for…something, no general direction but something. Either TessCyn or Cyn could straight up ask how she was made, or do a lil snooping by hooking herself up to consumatia a usb and getting to work, a full in depth story could exist in her subconscious, after all, and also…consumatia did not seem to mind TessCyn’s staring at all
Well, anything to pass the time, ask her to set it to autopilot and just link up
And besides, looking at consumatia…TessCyn noticed something…unusual for even most drones, rust on some parts that we currently visible, her magnets even had some at her joint connection points, her neck piece…there was probably more on this creature that was hidden or internal and it seemed a intentional part of her make up
At this point, she seemed to have more questions than anything as TessCyn's visor picked up on the rust and possible information Consumatia held within her systems. She could be what Humans used to call a 'gold mine' of data... The end of one of her tendrils presses against a rusted joint out of curiosity, as if gauging her age by wrapping around the area, personal privacy be damned.
"Y-You are an older model..?"
“Oh no…they…”
She trailed off for a second, her hody leaned a slight bit into the tendril…seemingly not minding the invasion of space.
“When they made me, and mimicked cyn’s origin…they wanted me to be as authentic as possible to ensure the test that dr craftmin zelle iottle had in mind, everything, but they wanted to go further…craftmin…”
Her visor sparked with solver energy, her cyan blue crackling out from her eyes a little
“He wanted me to be built with discarded parts. He wanted me to be as weak as possible to have a almost guaranteed reaction to inserting a solver strain into a hostless body, he wanted me to be his little trophy, even if his time was coming, he wanted to make an example of me, of what he could do for humanity…and to…solver itself, I was the test for the patch, he smiled as wide as a human physically could, other scientists and engineers worried about a “maternal reaction” from solver…but they were dismissed by iottle…he saw me as a way to show that he could do it, that he could make a hostless solver strain become alive and seperate, he made me have magnets on my body so that i’d be more controlled after the very first solver patch stab after my awakening, he made these solver bracelets…he…made sure my power was contained into the braclets…worst yet, with the magnets and his admin over my body…I can’t go eldritch…I have tried and it’s not able to happen, I am trapped and confined to a form like this against my will, at best I can meld my form into buildings but…even that causes strain”
She tried focusing back on the monitor to keep the ship steady

TessCyn's head flinches away from the other's touch, grabbing Consumatia by the wrist as the other hand moves to instinctively press against her partner-in-genocide's throat, staring her down. No real pressure was being applied though, mainly just a wary show of control over... whatever was happening here.
"Skeptical tone- I suppose I c-could see an example of this... path, like you ssssaid. I have always had the po-ower, after all."
The show of control did not discourage her, if anything it made her nod and continue as if it was normal thing, no reaction to the factor the show

She looked at her fused trophy of serial designation bb, staring and thinking

After being thanked by her ally, TessCyn rolled her eye lights and turned away from Consumatia. The lack of fear shown by her was... annoying to a degree. Being feared means you're being respected after all! However, this one actively sought her out and aided her purpose while still 'helping' her now... She ends up staring at the odd drone as the ship is piloted, unsure what to make of her.
She was strange that was for sure, the way her origin was said from what little TessCyn to grab from cyn’s memories during the switch back and the homebase that her and consumatia were leaving to dust, Consumatia had been intentionally put at the bottom of a manmade pit, and judging by what TessCyn saw, it was akin to where cyn and solver made their deal, an odd replica almost, consumatia seemed to yearn for…something, no general direction but something. Either TessCyn or Cyn could straight up ask how she was made, or do a lil snooping by hooking herself up to consumatia a usb and getting to work, a full in depth story could exist in her subconscious, after all, and also…consumatia did not seem to mind TessCyn’s staring at all
Well, anything to pass the time, ask her to set it to autopilot and just link up
And besides, looking at consumatia…TessCyn noticed something…unusual for even most drones, rust on some parts that we currently visible, her magnets even had some at her joint connection points, her neck piece…there was probably more on this creature that was hidden or internal and it seemed a intentional part of her make up

Mal knocked on Connie's door. Their first meeting had been a little awkward, and Mal was hoping to make up for it now that Chroma and Kenos were behaving at least a little better. They leaned against their cane, putting on their most confident smile.
"Hello there! Thought I'd stop by for a visit."
The door opened gently, connie smiled widened as she saw mal, her little tail wagging happily as she floated up into the air again and opening the door fully
“Hey mal, chroma, kenos, glad to see you all here!”
She trilled a little as she let them in, her house has seen some slight redecorating, like she just had a sleepover recently and forgot to clean up
“Glad to have ya!”
"Thanks!"
Mal hobbled inside, their two tails looking around.
"Looks like someone had fun~"
Chroma gave a mischievous grin. Or at least attempted to in his current tail form. Mal leaned against the wall and pulled a small plastic bag out of their pocket. Inside were tiny silver coin-like batteries.
"Here, a gift. These are a little sweeter than the typical double As. I had a gift bag, but Kenos ate it."
Kenos tilted her head.
"Paper and plastic have a good texture."
Mal rolled their eyes. At least she didn't eat the batteries.
“Heheheh thanks! And yeah had some fun with mama and her version of j v and n arrived…their stuck fused together”
She says casually as she munches on the double aa batterys, smiling
“So how has things been going with op and how did the meeting with aiya go! I wanna hear the details of it, if that is okay with you three ehehehe”
"Three people in one, huh? Sounds familiar."
Mal chuckled, taking a seat. They'd have to see if they could meet this Tessa and her fused friends sometime.
"Everything went pretty smoothly. Op gave us some body mods to make Chroma and Kenos more comfortable, and Aiya showered us with gifts and followed it up with flying lessons. You've got some generous friends."
"I have Iottle's bones. He will be gawked at behind glass, as he deserves."
Kenos seemed proud of herself.
"We're bringing that up right off the bat, huh?"
Mal frowned.
"I don't see why it's much different that any other human's bones, but you do you~"
“Iottle bones being set-up is a funny thought though, at least to me, and glad to hear op set you all up to be able to switch properly as well as aiya showing her generosity hehehe”
She said, smiling at the idea of the scientist who created her, aiya, and op, as well as the factor of her lab sisters were doing good
“Aiya is a benevolent being, despite originally being a virus, she likes using her access to a version of the internet, to gift those she likes with personal stuff, get them ready so they may be able to get used to this weird world we live in of possibilities”
She floated over to a seat and set her feet on the ground in a nice comfy chair
“Though I heard the quantity and quality you three got was extra special”
"We're lucky to be surrounded by good people."
Mal leaned back, relaxing with a sigh.
"I'm getting along with Chroma and Kenos better thanks to you and the others."
Mal nudged Kenos with their foot. She had started gnawing on the chair.

She said with a smile, then pondered, grabbing herself a a cup of oil with her arms, as they hovered away from her own body as she added whip cream to both of them and brought over both cups, one for herself, and one for mal and crew, taking a thoughtful sip before speaking again
“Though that said, I do wonder, something about you mal…if not too intrusive, as I float to deal with my problem but…how come you need a cane or a wheel chair?”
Which makes them all realize…they’ve barely seen her touch her feet to the ground except when sitting
Mal took the drink gratefully. They cupped their hands around the mug. They were quiet for a moment, thinking.
“It’s a defect I was manufactured with. Something deep inside that can’t easily be repaired. My joints are loose, and it can be painful to move around sometimes. I guess it might be similar to something I heard Cyn had before… all that.”
Mal wasn’t totally sure how to address the whole Cyn situation. They weren’t close to anyone involved. They were sort of a background character in that way. If anything, Connie would know way more.
“Sorry to derail. The point I meant to make is that some days it hurts more than others, and I need extra support.”
“Some days they don’t even need the cane!”
“Buuuut I always carry it around. Just in case.”

“In an emergency, sure, but my cane’s my cane. It’s handy dandy! Plus, it was a gift.”
She sipped her own drink, thoughtfully, looking into it before talking and letting the three quiet down before speaking
“As you three recall…I was intentionally made damaged…my parts and such were scavenged and ensured each and every single one was pretty damaged but still could function, each and every part, every rusted bolt, even my voice modulator, before mama gained admin over me, was pretty banged up…but even with my healing in my own hands and being able to turn into my own true form…the parts aren’t fully fixed still, it’s fixed but..only slightly, my feet and legs still hurt when I touch the ground, I can still feel the rust on some of my teeth and my magnets, the way it all just…feels off, even if it hurts less, my mind registers it the same…despite it being lessened, I do my best to limit my time walking cus of it…only do I walk when disguised as some other drone which I…should probably stop doing with my choice of disguise…eheh”
She softly looked into her oil
“Im sure in time my legs will fully heal but with all my healing has to do…it’s…a long way to go…and I’ll probably have to learn to walk anyhow, solver weight distribution is…funky”
She looked at mal calmly, a soft smile
