Four years now into their marriage, Connor’s gradually managed to bring some hard-won Christmas spirit back into the Anderson household. Despite the holiday cheer and festivities (including a lacy lingerie set Connor receives from a mysterious source at the DPD Christmas party), Hank finally decides they they need to visit someone special together on Christmas Eve. It’s a trip to the cemetery he’s been putting off for a while, and emotions are still running high even when they return home that night.

Gavin turns the cellphone in his hands, nearly shoving it into Hank’s face as he leans closer to see, and then his jaw goes slack.

It’s a photo of an android on his back on pale purple sheets. Naked, legs spread. His mouth is open mid-moan, head tilted to the side, looking at the camera from beneath his lashes, but Hank’s eyes catch on the soft fall of dark brown hair across a forehead, the strong jawline and cheekbones, and he recoils.

Fuck, it’s Connor. No, it can’t be.

Maybe this new case involving the disappearance of magically made servants is a change of luck. Or maybe he should have listened to his instincts.

Connor doesn’t know what else to say, where to even start explaining why he never brought it up sooner; why he didn’t say anything - not until Hank was lying prone on a dirty warehouse floor of a drug den after falling from a fourth floor walkway and wondering why he was still alive.

How his partner’s face had paled when he looked at his arm and saw the exposed circuitry sparking in the low light.
