I always, ALWAYS hear this: "oh, you are from #Mexico, summer all year long". My home town: 🌬❄☃️ In the most kind way, if you want to know about Mexico: at least go and search for it in Google, or ask, dont assume. It is located in the NORTH of the continent called #America. No, America isn't ANY country. Mexico, with official name Mexican United States, is so long, that to cross it from #North to #South it will take you around 3 days (2 non stop, I have done it). In the North, where I am from (#Chihuahua, yes, like the #dog, and I also heard that 10 million times 🙄) temperatures go as low as -27 °C, and in summer can be around 40 °C and dry. We have mountain, valleys and desert geography mainly in Chihuahua. But also, and a #surprise even for some locals, we do have #tropical zones. Our #complex of #mountains are much deeper than the Grand Canyon, and they have been #historically exploited for its minerals (#gold, #silver). We even have #crystals caves (google #Naica). The city I come from, #Cuauhtemoc city is a dusty, more #rural than city, I call it #Ranchemoc: at the foot of the mountains. And for more than a #decade has suffered the violence of the #cartels. Culturally is known for being the home of 3 different #cultures: #mexican, #menonite and #tarahumara. We have a wonderful #train route that takes you from Chihuahua #city to the #Pacific: and is absolutely fantastic! Enough of it for now. This is how my family is spending New Year: playing with the snow. And yes, I am #homesick. (at Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJdSirepZqk/?igshid=1jpk08w0d6tih
