He waved a hand as he entered, taking off his hat with it. "No, no... I'm alright. I truly apologize for being... distant. I probably should have spoken to you sooner."
He hesitated, seeming a bit awkward as he stood there.

[She went over to him and placed a kiss on his cheek, smiling]
I have been well, yes. Just... tired from the dances, we are learning a new play and it is quite taxing.

He hesitated before sitting, pressing both hands together as he chose his words. "Well, you are aware of my current living situation since my return, yes? How I've been staying in the family home with Raoul and Christine? I'm sure you can imagine that it is a bit... well... awkward."

[Sorellis face dropped suddenly and she blinked a few times. A few hours away...? He wouldnt be...]

[She felt her mouth go dry and she looked around her desk for some water. She didnt want to deter him from moving away!]
The countryside? I do hope that you will live quite... peacefully there.
[Her hands balled with the fabric of her skirt in them, she couldn't bear to make eye contact. He was leaving her again...]
He watched her closely as she reacted, and his heart pounded anxiously as he braced himself. He slowly stepped forward, hand reaching out to take her arm.
"Thank you," he says, voice sounding much calmer than he felt.
"But... that's not what I came here to speak to you about."
[She let him take her arm and took a deeper breath to calm her nerves.]

[Sorelli leaned forward and her hand reached to squeeze his. What could he be on about, keeping her on edge like this!]
"No... well, not... exactly."
Very gently, he tips her head towards him, a finger on her chin. His eyes soften, and he seems nervous, but determined.
"I... have a delicate request. And please don't feel pressured to accept. But..."
He trailed off, his hand staying underneath her chin as he gathered his courage.
[Sorelli's eyes locked with his and her breath hitched. A delicate request? What was it? She saw his eyes soften and her heart fluttered. Perhaps it would still turn out okay.]

He exhaled nervously, steeling himself. This was it. What he'd been agonizing over for months now, and finally come too a decision with.
"My dear," he began, gripping both her hands tightly. "I was hoping you could move in with me."
He didn't break their gaze at all, as he continued, "I understand you have responsibilities here, and it may interfere with your life here at the Opera if you were to come with, but..."
[Her mouth cracked open slightly and her gaze darted between his eyes. Move in with him? To the countryside, hours away from the city.]
