Computer animation is not garbage

Is it just me, or do people get super critical of animated movies, more specifically 3d animated movies that have no toilet humor and fart jokes or over the top cartoon humor? Because Kpop Demon Hunters is an example of an animated movie that kids got better.

1. There's no potty humor

2. No fart jokes

3. No recent and outdated pop culture references

4. No uses of songs that weren't kpop related

Examples being songs from past decades that studios try to pass off as being new

5. It didn't treat it's audience like idiots to keep us entertained

I feel like this is what people expect in animated movies. Especially 3d animated movies. Illumination Entertainment really caused psychic damage to zillennials, gen z, and gen alpha.

The only Illumination movie that really isn't like this is The Lorax. I can see why now that Tumblr in the 2010s was simping for the onceler despite his physical appearance.

People expect 3d animation to have this humor. Shrek isn't the cause of this. It's uses of pop culture references and songs from previous decades worked in the favor of the franchise. Especially when the songs in the 2nd movie were updated versions.

Unfortunately, DreamWorks movies that weren't Shrek would do this and they were cringe. Except for Madagascar. It wouldn't be until Kung Fu Panda that DreamWorks animation would become another studio for storytelling and not pop culture references.

How To Train Your Dragon followed suit. Plus, Kpop Demon Hunters didn't shy away from blood, cuts, bruises, and other injuries. Amongst other things.

Me: Cinderella. Just Cinderella

I don't really care all that much for Cinderella either but I'll watch that anytime. I just find it weird that people were shitting on Beauty and the Beast because of these two crappy Sega games. I'm sorry that the 90s happened and that the movie became so beloved that it spawned a Broadway musical.

Again, I only really like Beauty and the Beast and Tangled, but classic Disney isn't better or above Renaissance Disney and Revival Disney. Even Walt Disney himself wanted to make Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel back in his day.

Tom and Jerry in The Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka: hold my slippers and chocolate

In 2013, WB released "Tom and Jerry meet The Wizard of Oz" and in 2018 they released "Tom and Jerry in Willy Wonka", both in which are hand drawn animated. The latter was disrespectful since it came out two days after the death of Gene Wilder.

Basically, Tom and Jerry don't work in movie form. Their antics are fine for 7 minutes until they get stale. They're well animated, but they don't work. Especially when they interrupt moments from the movies that are supposed to not have slap stick in them.

Such examples are when the flying monkeys take Dorothy and Toto to the WWW castle and Dorothy saying her famous line at the end. Another is when Slugworth was revealed to have been hired by Wonka in order to test each child's personality. It even makes Charlie Bucket into an extreme goody two shoes to a point where it's like do something bad!

Burp in public or something. It doesn't have to be extreme but even saints had their bad days. The Tom and Jerry version basically made Slugworth into an antagonist the entire time. These movies basically exist to remind people that they could be watching the original better versions.

The Willy Wonka one is a straight shot for shot remake in animated form with some changes here and there. The first example is the opening with the chocolate products being made. The second is the candy man scene. You get what I mean.

Basically, the characters lack agency. Tom and Jerry have to do all of the back breaking work for the characters to even be themselves.

No seriously. It's not. The success of Kpop Demon Hunters proves this. Disney is not missing out on anything because they fail to expand their brand. The only ever time they did was switching from 2d animation to 3d animation. Though, Tangled could still be considered 2d as in the characters are 2 demisonal.

The hate for Disney in this day and age seems valid, but it can go too far. Especially when the anti woke crowd gets involved. Some of these people would take offense to Rujinu being compared to Rapunzel and Flynn aka Eugene.

I genuinely don't see anything wrong with their computer animated movies. Because even Tim Burton hated working on "The Fox and the Hound" for being too cutesy. Disney fired him a few years later for his live action version of Frankenweenie. It was deemed 'too gothic' for their liking until the early 90s.

The same could be said for their music styles. If Kpop Demon Hunters had been made by Disney, it would be generic. This is why people cringe when you sing a Disney song out loud. People will cringe in general if you sing in public randomly out loud as if you're performing a concert. Aka, theater kids.

Not always, but still. Disney has great songs. But a lot of them are too Broadway. There's always a song or two from every decade that people will play on repeat and everyone, including your own grandparents will know will sing and dance along to them. Golden is one of them. Along with Soda Pop. Disney wouldn't have given Maggie Kang and her husband Chris full control of their movie.

I looked up the translations for the Korean parts of every song except for What it Sounds Like and it was for the best that they kept those parts in Korean. I don't think Disney would've fully explored the world of Kpop.

Disney has had their share of problems over the years. But now, it's very noticeable. Computer animation didn't cause their current downfall. They just haven't been creative with the medium. I dread them ever reviving their hand drawn animation because of the purists.

The company that took risks in the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s is in a sad state.

I saw someone on reddit say that Elio looks as if Disney and Pixar aren't even trying anymore. This is why Kpop Demon Hunters did so much better. Every human character within Pixar movies have always had different and unique styles but now it's all the same. The only Pixar movie that I like from this current decade is Turning Red.

It's safe to say that Pixar made Disney their bitch in the 2000s. So much so that Wall E is part of the Criterion collection. The way I see the state of current Pixar is the same way I see a tv series go from being so great that it wins an Emmy to a complete shit stain. But the second season is usually decent.

2010s Pixar is like a second season of an Emmy award winning tv series. Except for the fact that there were two really great movies from that decade. Then it went downhill. They've stopped trying. They've stopped taking risks.

They've become a soulless husk of their former selves. From milking the Toy Story franchise, to unappealing looking characters, they're really, really in a sad state. Disney stepped back into action in the 2010s. This included Pixar playing by their rules. Instead of the usual charming short before Coco, audiences were forced to sit through a Frozen short.

Someone on reddit said that they took his wife and kids to see it and he had to go to the restroom. When he returned, it was still playing. They were at a mall so he decided to look around. He texted his wife if it was over and she told him no. Audiences in Mexico were furious about this that so much so, they banned it.
