After watching "Dressed to Kill" I am looking for something more than art at an art museum. I am waiting for Angie Dickinson's character to play a cat and mouse game for her missing glove. Once she gets the glove I will let her know that her son Peter is cool.

I studied this Wham music video when I was 14. I was going to grow up and be a bad boy like George. He did use upper blocks in their dance moves. The scene where they are cutting from the kid version to the 19 year old version of George reminded me of the movie Conan the Barbarian. I didn't realize much later he would be a bad boy for other reasons. I would work with a choreogpraphy coach to get those moves down.

The jammer needs to slip a booty block and sprint before the inside blocker catches up.

Echo Beds use of an oil drum and contact mic makes an acoustic drum set obsolete. A hi-hat is not needed. The band does not take up much space on the floor but they sound big. I am thrown off when a band is not squared off to the audience. They didn’t need to see me to put on a great show.

Going to a show on a Sunday night takes motivation. Starting off the work week without sleep makes for a bad Monday. After Forever Grey’s show I did not care about that. I was grateful for the band to swing by town on a school night. I have been interested in the 79–81 sound as of late. I was too young at the time to appreciate it. Forever Grey has the sound but they are doing their own thing. As much as I swear by synth and machinery, I love that bass guitar. There was a guitar onstage and I did not mind at all. It was complimentary to the music. Time to turn off the lights and dive into Forever Grey music videos.

Selofan - Sto Skotadi An important part of an urban setting is the parks system. Parks give a little reprieve from the concrete and steel. Friendly gentlemen can have a place to hang out to discuss the sports events from earlier in the night or day. I was heading out to catch the documentary “Ladies Night Out”. Before I drive out my phone starts blowing up.(I received two texts from two different people.) One of them had a phone that was out of commission so they grabbed another phone to fill me in. I was told to turn on WMSE. Radio Drill Time was having a versus show with Front 242 and Front Line Assembly. This is another versus show where I didn’t have to pick a a loser. I grabbed my headphones so I could listen to the show all the way up to the theater. For the club scenes of the documentary I wanted to redub the music from the versus show. Playlist

Hearing roller derby was coming to my hometown was a dream come true. I never had that dream because I did not think of it as a possibility. The Brewcity Bruisers were so green when the skated on the basketball court of Summerfest for the first time. No one in the crowd cared. Everyone was going crazy. History was being made. Ten years later I am still a huge fan.

I am no where closer to my 2015 horror movie list and my buddy dropped on me the list for 2016. I will have to stay busy for the next 12 months to get caught up. I am anxious to get through all of the movies. We are not in a dry spell for horror movies.

Work the Body! Work the Body!

I don’t remember the million questions that I asked my parents when I was a little kid. I do remember being around 8 years old asking my mother, “Why does David Bowie wear women’s clothes and makeup?” I knew at the time that boys are boys and girls are girls. I can’t remember the outfit but the question stuck with me. I was too young to grasp the music. When I saw the music video for “Ashes to Ashes” on Saturday Night Live, I was captivated again by him. At that point I was older so I could appreciate his music, and I have loved it ever since. I only got to see him perform live once and that was in 2004. He was laid back between the songs, but the performance by him and the band was amazing. They were the tightest band that I have ever seen. “Lazarus” music video is Bowie as strong as ever. Bowie has been in my consciousness almost from the beginning. I am sad that my journey will not include him.

I watch this as a music video. A second version should be provided with the text stripped out. I have heard the sound of the wind turbine test in a movie but I can’t remember which one it was. Looks like coal is here to stay a while. Coal visuals give the video a bleakness but it is a bummer. The cooling tower merry go round could be used for recording vocals. Since the ride can be raised up, a couple of passes would need to be done to see which height to lay down the vocals. The recording would occur while it is cloudy at sunset.
