       he’s the image of relaxation .     casual  as  he  loosely  grips  the  wheel  with  one  hand,   cerulean  hues  flickering  away  from  the  road  so  his  gaze  can level  on  the  girl  in  the  passenger  seat .      though  she  has  only  recently  woken  up  following  her  accident,   she  already  reeks  of  judgment .      within  that  he  senses  a  certain  level  of  fear                       perhaps  it’s  a  good  sign  she  has  the  sense  to  feel  a  little  nervous  around  him .     ❝    you  were  so  much  more  fun  when  you  were  asleep .    ❞      eyes   roll,   but  a  certain  carefree  air  is  maintained .      only  a  bit  further  to  go,   so  long  as  he  can  keep  her  along  for  the  ride .      ❝    we’re  in  georgia,   and  aunt  jenna  and  baby  gilbert  will  be  fine  in  virginia  for  the  day .      don’t  be  so  melodramatic .    ❞

“       didn’t  think  i’d  be  seeing  you      this  early  in  the  week.        (        it’s  obviously  sarcastic      -      one  could  tell  by  the  pause  that  follows,     giving  her  enough  time  to  chuckle  for  herself.     she’s  merely  amused  by  the  girl’s  presence.      perhaps  bothered,    just  a  bit,    but  very  entertained  overall.         )

she   scoffs   at   her    rhetorical  question ,         a   little   sigh   escaping   her .        thumb   rests   on   the   temple   of   her   head   &    fingers   rub   over   her   forehead                           a   wince   dominating   her   expression   overall.         (   she  hides  the  anger  well.   )

fine,    fine,   fine.       she    repeats   it   like   a   mantra ,       a   chant   decorated   on   cherry   lips .       (  it’s  a  learned  response ,     isn’t  it ?       maybe   if  you  say  it  often  you’ll  believe  it .  )        and   there   it   comes ,       the   same    weak ,      unconvincing   smile .        her   heart   bleeds   day   &   night ,     an   invisible   burden   crushing   fragile   soul :       but   she   hides  it  so  well   under   that   golden  grin ,     the   twinkle   in  her   eyes   has   dimmed    though .
