What is it you would need your constable to do?”

Her eyes grew wide and filled with a joyous sparkling. “Commander,” she put a hand on each of her shoulders, “I would LOVE to run a drive for the tenth. I don’t think you understand how much,” she leaned in, “I would love to run a drive for the tenth. Just tell me when you want me to start and I will get my butt out there and get ALL the food.”

If you can fudge it I think I would prefer it. I’m still trying to figure things out with the walker situation, I have no idea how to defend myself against things of the multiverse nature.”

All of her limbs went limp and cascaded over the front and sides of her chair like she had been a balled up pack of low tension springs. “A promotion?! REALLY!?” A sound high enough to cause dogs to bark emitted from her, Petra quickly finding herself in a very bouncy screaming hug. “Thank you! OhSweetHolySunsIwasn’tExpectingThisAtAll! WhatDoIdo!? Petra frowned slightly as the cupcake went sailing upon impact and hit the desk with a soft splat. It was hard to be mad with Zia so thrilled though. “It’s not huge uptick in your duties, but you will have more say over other officers and how patrols are handled. You’ll also have a few more tasks around the precinct with regards to paperwork. I want to change things around here, Zia, and I think we need pure and just people like you to do it. If you’ll stop bouncing and release me your new uniform cords are in my desk.”

She slid down Petra’s front slightly at the mention of additional paper work, but it would be worth it. It had to be worth it. Not that the precinct would give her one she just knew her dad would be excited too. “I don’t know that I’m pure but I promise I’ll at least try my best to help the precinct move forward and change for the better. I’m really happy that you think I can do that and you have that much faith in me.”

“Then work is going to be extra long today,” she smiled and rested her forehead against Rory’s. “I have to swing by my storage unit and start cleaning so I can come home to my girlfriends pretty face. Thats something anyone would be excited about.”

“I want to help you with that if you’ll let me. The troupe wrapped up Absolution of the Guildpact while you were missing so I have like nothing to do after work.” She glanced at the clock on the wall. “Speaking of work I’ve got to head on down to the lab soon.”

“Yeah of course! Just come on down to the lab and grab me if I forget to eat again?” Rory stole one last kissed and turned to leave, but paused at the door. “Oh I almost forgot I think Petra was hoping to see you upstairs now that you’re all settled back in.”

Petra looked up from her paperwork and her wings gave a happy flap at the sight of Zia. “Come in! Close the door behind you please.”
