“Ferre! Ferre! Cosette just called me!” Courfeyrac said with panic clear in his voice, running down the stairs to the living room. “She’s gone into labour! The baby’s coming!”
Ferre stood up and went over to him hugging him tightly, “We’re about to be dads! Ok, let’s not panic, we have the baby bag packed, the car seat installed, and the nursery ready, we’re good, ok?” He smiled and kissed his forehead, “Do you want to pack anything else before we go?”
Courfeyrac walked into the nursery and picked up Genevieve. “Come on baby girl, someone’s hungry isn’t she?”
Noodles looked towards Genevieve’s nursery before walking into the bedroom after Combeferre.
Genevieve calmed down some but still cried once Courf had her.
“Good boy, come give me a cuddle while we wait.” Ferre smiled.
He put a pacifier in her mouth as he walked into the kitchen to make her a bottle. “Come on baby, it won’t be long, I promise.”
Noodles jumped onto the bed and settled against Combeferre, wagging his tail happily.
Evie stopped crying but was still fussy, being about as patient as could be expected for a hungry baby.
Ferre pet him, “That’s my good Noodle,” he snuggled up with him and tried to stay awake to wait for Courf though his eyes did feel quite heavy.
He made the bottle as quick as possible before sitting down on the sofa and beginning to feed her. “There you go baby girl, you must be so hungry.”
Noodles enjoyed the pets, the speed of his tail slowing down.
Evie drank the bottle looking up at Courf with her eyes wide before closing them as she drank.
Ferre’s pets slowed as well as he drifted off.
He quietly hummed her a lullaby as she drank, forcing himself to keep his eyes open.
Noodles soon curled up on the bed and fell asleep.
Evie stopped and yawned.
Once she’d finished he put the bottle on the side and put her back into the crib in the nursery. “Sleep well baby girl.” He whispered, picking up the baby monitor and going back into the bedroom and all but falling into bed.
Noodles wiggled between his dads and slept.
Ferre put his arm over Noodles and Courf.
Courfeyrac gently stroked Noodles until he fell asleep.
Ferre woke to Evie’s cries a few hours later and quickly turned the monitor down and tried to sneak out of bed to let Courf sleep.
Courfeyrac briefly woke for a moment but saw Combeferre getting up and decided to go back to sleep.
Ferre went and picked her up, “What’s wrong little princess? Do you need a change?” He lifted her up and sniffed, “Oh yes you do little stinky butt.”
Genevieve cried but settled slightly when he was picked up.
“It’s ok, daddy’s gonna take care of it,” Ferre undid her pjs and took off her diaper, “Oh my that’s a lot of poop for such a small human.” He bit his lip and then decided to just bring her into the bathroom and hold her in the shower for a few minutes and he’d change his boxers before going back to sleep. He turned on the shower bringing a clean towel with him for her and a wash cloth.
Genevieve continued to cry, shifting in his arms.
“I know, Princess I know,” Ferre bounced gently and waited for the water to get warm but not hot before getting in, and cleaning her up, “That’s it sweet girl, almost done,” he spoke softly kissing her head gently. “There we are,” he told her once she was cleaned up. He turned off the water and wrapped her in her little bath towel, carrying her back to her nursery.
She settled once she was clean and wrapped up, making a content sound as she looked up at her dad.
“All clean, little cutie,” Ferre kissed her head again and got her into a clean diaper and pjs. He held her close rocking her to sleep as he sang a soft little lullaby.
Genevieve reached up for his face.
Ferre smiled and leaned in to let her touch his face, “Silly little thing, it’s sleepy time.”
She grabbed at his nose and made a little babbly noise.
Ferre let out a soft chuckle and then started singing to her again hoping she was tired enough to fall asleep.
Genevieve was making it clear that she wasn’t planning on sleeping any time soon.
Ferre shook his head and smiled down at her, “You’re lucky you’re cute mademoiselle,” he sat down in the rocking chair and hummed softly to her.
She shifted in his arms and let out a content babble.
“Is that so?” Ferre smiled.
Courfeyrac woke up and pulled on a dressing gown before slowly making his way into the living room. “Morning my loves.”
“Good morning, Papa,” Ferre looked up at him, “Evie decided she was done with sleep for the time being.”
