Introduce yourself

Decided to revive my old Tumblr account ever since Twitter & Instagram became useless as art posting platforms. I've taken a long break from social media and am frankly hesitant to get back into it given how stressful life is in general. Still, I like drawing art from shows I'm interested in, so might be posting on and off.

[Edit 7.26] Changing my username to separate it from my work related stuff. I use the other one everywhere a bit too much >_<. Lately I just want some space online where I can post nonsensical doodles of whatever makes me go *points to gif below*

Will I stick to it? No idea. Still trying to figure out how I want to use these platforms.

You know at this age, I feel the need to watch the anime again, or read the Daiya manga - specifically the yips arc to understand Miyuki's role there and perhaps understand the team's reactions a bit more objectively, rather than get emotional about the Furuya glazing and Sawamura neglect.

Cuz from what I remember, Miyuki was the first one to notice something was wrong, raise it with coaches, and ask Chris for the favor because he thought Eijun would be more receptive to help coming from Chris (which was considerate of him tbh). But I know I'm gonna get supremely mad at the second coach, all objectivity is going to go out the window XD But yea, I sometimes feel like I've misunderstood Miyuki's character (similar to how I recently realized about misunderstanding Furuya). Does the anime edit out scenes from the manga or direct the show in a way that the rivalry, or Eijun being unappreciated by his team (to create drama) is highlighted a bit more?

I unearthed my Daiya no Ace fanarts from 10 years ago

I was going through my external hard drives to check what has what in it and I stumbled across a folder of my artworks from 2014-2016. I had forgotten I had drawn Miyuki a couple of times. One drawing I recognize because I was so proud of being able to paint it without reference and just applying what I knew. The other doodle I have no recollection of. Why tf was I able to draw/paint better back then? (Because, you tired potato, you used to practice and sketch everyday).

I am envious of my younger self. Should i post them here though?

I remember when I painted the second one I was so proud of myself for being able to do that directly in color, instead of going from greyscale to color. At that time I was also the sort of person who would try to draw without references (and you can see that the hairstyle is off XD). Ah, the springtime of my youth ;w;

Daiya no Ace ep 13 (Season 4): I get why Eijun felt the way he did. ;w; I get it was just the setting, but man, it was painful to watch that misunderstanding. I do love it when the character backstories are explored a bit. Miyuki opening up about wanting to do right by his father was something I was not expecting, but I love it since it shed's some light on their relationship. I wish we could have gotten to know more about these everyday things for a lot of the other characters. Anyway, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was viewing a shoujo love triangle situation XD XD XD Despite my dissatisfaction with Furuya being OPed so much, I do like him as a character and his interactions with Eijun (I think in the start I found them toxic, but now I think it was because of that second coach). Still, somehow, I feel a bit upset with this depiction of Eijun ever since he put the ace number on. Was kinda hoping he wouldn't start out so weakly in his first game (not when he played so well against Harkyuu). I think the semi-final match was veeeery satisfying. I wish there was more Eijun interaction with Kousei XD (love Amahisa honestly, at this point I feel like he's the only one who truly has some respect for Sawamura than Seido as a team does ;w;). Given what I've read about the final with Inashiro, should I brace myself for more Sawamura mistreatment? Like.......I know it was a deeply dissatisfying ending, but I'll be hella mad if MC ends up in the same position as he was in at the beginning.

Getting back into DnA again

Good grief, it is so hard not to ship characters together in Daiya no Ace. I thought I was a steadfast MiyuSawa fan, but the recent episodes with Amahisa and Sawamura *brain starts churning* huehuehuehuehuehue! But even without the shipping aspect, these characters are well-written (hard not to get attached to just one)! I really enjoy the wholesome interactions and rivalries that aren't toxic. I think in the previous seasons I may have gotten irritated with Furuya because of Ochiai's favoritism. I hadn't read the manga afterwards, so I wasn't expecting the mutual respect and the positive competitiveness between Furuya and Eijun. It's been refreshing to view this series again after all these years. Although....this is probably me ovethinking, but somehow the current animations (with the exception of a few scenes) feels lackluster/stiff compared to the older animation. I do like that in some scenes the characters look their age, but there was this one episode where Kataoka was drawn just weird man.
