A Final Farewell (from Tumblr)
CW: Rant
I've been posting here for a couple years now, and I've been happy with all the kind people I've bumped into along the way. That being said, if you read the title, you likely know that this is my last post on Tumblr. I started this account in mid-2024, making my first post on July 16th 2024. It's been nearly two years of making art (I write this on March 11th 2026), and both my style and content has changed. I've started to become (admittedly) more suggestive in my works, and all while that occurs, I have grown to despise this platform. I am sickened by the state of which the internet and what it has come, between the creeping mold that is age verification on the internet (fuck KOSA, fuck Chat Control, and fuck all of it's supporters). And between just how prevalent AI garbage is on the internet, the constant incessant need of big-business stocks to go up whatever I make to steal your (yes YOU!) attention just to serve more advertisements and keep you glued to this app/site (whatever you use Tumblr, Reddit on)... I'm sickened by it. I planned on leaving this platform eventually, as despite it being a relatively large segment of my audience (by follower count), it always felt... misaligned. Especially now that I'm drawing more suggestive art and really don't plan on being a purely SFW artist anymore. Tumblr's owned by Automattic, and this place... just feels like a corporate-run mess to me. I barely have control over the feed, and at every waking moment it tries shoving me other accounts to follow to interact with it as much as I can. I'm fucking sick of it and the manipulative tactics of modern social media. (sigh) That's it. I'll still be on the net and other platforms, posting away under ColorfulCeleste to share my work, being: - Mastodon: @[email protected] - Bluesky: @colorfulceleste.com - Newgrounds @ColorfulCeleste - Furaffinity: @ColorfulCeleste
This is my hobby, something I do for fun. And between the internet increasingly being focused on being "advertiser/kid-safe", the increasingly puritan stance of corporations as a whole, and personal issues in my real life (mental health mainly) - they've exhausted me. And combined, have whittled what little patience I have for spaces like Tumblr, as well as for the corporate-run internet as a whole. I still plan to be on the internet making art, but I don't plan on being active here anymore.
Goodbye to all those I've met here, I'll personally relish every kind comment I've gotten over the years. Until we meet again <3
