13. What gets them flustered

Not getting too saucy on main… side… whatever, Nimh’s pretty flustered by any overt flirting or open gestures of attraction. They’re a little on the private side when it comes to that kind of thing. Even just a good flirty smile and wink in the right situation can make them blush (and scowl).

3. Scars or painful spots

Trizgrak has plenty of old scars from her pirating days, the most significant being three deep grooves across her muzzle from a fight with a skittermander, and her missing arm from her final engagement with her one-time captain before she was ‘exiled’.

12. Grudges and vendettas

Imaginably, Trizgrak holds a pretty big grudge against her old captain for taking her arm and for taking her away from her home as a ship-slave, as well as a grudge against her good-for-nothing parents for selling her into slavery in the first place.

17. Scars

Already answered for Nimh. Since then, they now also have a thin vertical burn scar up the length of their abdomen from a radiant sun blade that just avoided slicing them open.

Dresk’s only notable scar is a large, jagged one across his abdomen, from a time he was gutted with a weird glass sword by a Black Sun agent. He does kinda hope he gets a cool lip or eyebrow scar one day. Nothing too bad, though, don’t wanna damage the money maker. :P

28. Home

Nimh’s home is a continent far to the north of their game’s main setting, covered in ice-capped mountains, river valleys, massive pine forests, snow plains and the like. It is the ancestral home of all giant-kin and all the animals are pretty much megafauna, making it a real tough place to survive if you’re not one of them.

Dresk’s home is a tiny, grungy city-moon called New Caldena. It fucking sucks and he hates it there. Seriously, don’t go.

36. Sacrifice

Nimh has a bit of a self-sacrificial complex due to a tragic mistake they made in the past that cost them the life of their closest friend. They now have a dangerous tendency to throw themself on the sword for other people they care for. Recently, they very nearly gave up their life to throw the rest of the party free of a crumbling bridge that was sinking into a pool of lava. They only survived thanks to suddenly learning the misty step spell and just managing to teleport to safety before their support pillar fell. (I know that’s not how it really works, but I like to play up the “spontaneous” nature of sorcerer spells in roleplay.)

39. Secret

Since the last few questions were a bit heavy, how’s this: Nimh’s a sucker for cute baby animals. Shove one at ‘em without them being ready for it and you might just get a squeak out of the big tough gruff. :P

11. Best Friend

Years ago, Nimh was very close to another goliath from their clan: a young soft-spoken boy named Lamak, who was training to become a Raven shaman. They became quite good friends, but Nimh was something of a bad influence on him, often getting him both into and out of trouble throughout their reckless, rebellious youth.

17. Scars

While their ability to harden their skin does prevent a lot of the worst, Nimh has a pretty constant flux of various scars marking their skin from all the blows they take. Some of them magic healing is able to fade over time, but the more severe ones tend to stick. Their most prominent scars right now are six star-shaped blasts they suffered from taking a magic missile full on to the chest, which marked the first time they ever dropped in the game. They also recently got some pretty rough puncture wounds from being crushed in a crustacean-like hydra’s massive spiny claw, but those’ll probably heal up better than the many broken ribs...

11. Best Friend - Cornflower

Cornflower’s best friend is her adoptive brother, @necromatador’s big beautiful gatorfolk son, Beau! The two of them are an inseparable pair of lovable lizards, and Corn would do anything to protect him and keep him happy and well-fed. Most of her ventures out of the swamp are to find new exotic ingredients to improve her cooking, of which he’s the chief taste tester and the inspiration for her boldest creations.

6. Laughter - Nimh

Nimh has a big loud laugh when they really let loose, but it usually comes in the form of small chuckles and quiet snort-laughing. Also, they’d never admit it, but slapstick humor is really funny to them, especially when it stems from their goofy party members’ shenanigans.

8. Dreams - Dresk

Dresk suffers from some pretty bad chronic nightmares/night terrors that manifest when he’s stressed. (Which is to say, a lot of the time in his campaign right now.) He tends to sleep in short bursts to try and combat them, and thus rarely gets into a deep enough sleep to actually dream.

19. Summer - Hymn

Summer is Hymn’s least favorite season; it’s too hot, too bright, and there’s far too much expectation of a person to be out and about and enjoying that kind of awful weather. He cherishes the days when summer storms roll in to remind the sun of her place, which is out of his eyes, thank you very much.
