On January 1, 2027, WRAL-5 is scheduled to officially switch its network affiliation back to CBS.
Simultaneously, Deltavision Media will complete its corporate acquisition of WNCN. Following the buyout, WNCN will switch its affiliation back to NBC, return to its classic 2013-2016 silver logo, and completely rebrand its local broadcasts as "WNCN 17 News."
