INFJs are not, in fact, mythical creatures that spew glitter- even though they do comprise under 1% of the population. They are actual human beings, who are very kind- and whip-smart, once you engage them.  Here is your complete guide on how to successfully attract an INFJ. ((If you are an INTP or ENTP, you can just skip this, because you subconsciously do all of this stuff already.))

Be an enigma- be as complex and tragic as you possibly can. Make thoughtful, engaging comments until the INFJ takes interest and decides they want to figure you out.

Bring something humane-rights related up around the INFJ, or speak in metaphor or prose. When you’re asked to debate in class, do so eloquently and use at least one simile. The INFJ will take notice, as they have a deep and puzzling affinity for intellectual conversation. 

Be kind. Make small, subtle gestures such as saying “thank you” around the INFJ or sitting with them when they’re alone. They appreciate kindness. 

If you have completed those things, the INFJ probably is infatuated by now. Congratulations. 

Now that you have seized the INFJ’s attention (and possibly their heart), they will probably initiate eye contact. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GLARE AT THEM. They are secretly fragile little butterflies and someone being mean to them will totally damage their self esteem, even if they don’t show it. 

DO NOT GLARE. SMILE GENUINELY.

Now that the INFJ has been assured that you like him/her, they will probably begin idealize you to the point of irrationality and wonder what it would be like to be your friend. The INFJ is naturally curious, so this is a very good sign. 

The INFJ will start a conversation with you if given the excuse, but if there is not such opportunity, then you have to talk to the INFJ first. Just do it. You will not regret it.

Conversation topics: psychology, tea, abstract concepts, whatever book you happen to have with you at the moment, or just something punny. But no knock-knock jokes, or they will probably judge you.

Signs that the INFJ likes you– lots of smiling, attentiveness, and an increase in sarcastic puns. 

Ask the INFJ for advice. They love interacting with- and generally helping- people. If the INFJ starts to delve into an in-depth, elaborate discussion about the solution to your problem, then it means they like you enough to put significant effort into helping you. 

Congratulations— you have now attracted an INFJ.
