Golf Drills How to Stop Coming Over the Top

How do we stop coming over the top? And what's the problem with coming over the top and what does that mean? Once we get set up to our target, in a perfect world, our golf club would stay as we swing pretty much on my side of the target line. So if the target line extends from behind the ball to the ball and to the target, I want the golf club staying on my side throughout the entire golf swing. Over the top means, that once you get to the top of the backswing position the golf club, through some body movement of some sort, will take the club outside that target line as you see here and then as it comes back towards you we've got directional issues, we've also got difficulty with the clubface returning to it's ideal impact position. So here's a great little tip if you think you have this problem.

I’ve got a student here with me and behind the golf ball in the planning area or what we call the analysis area the player is going to determine what type of shot that do they want to hit what club are they going to use what type of shot shape are they going to use what type of trajectory they're going to make.
