"I will forever be there." Was always a lie.

I don’t know where you are, what you’re doing, or how you’re doing, but I want to reflect back some of the words you left for me in 2015. I also believe that you are the light— you have only been a light in my life. In the darkest moments I think about you sometimes and the memories still feel warm. Whatever you’re doing, trust that you are going the right way. And, remember that somewhere far away, you will always have someone in your corner. No matter what happens to us, I will always be here.

To be honest, I don’t know if I can ever recover what I lost with you. But I want you to know that I still go onto that wacky forum and read your messages to me from so, so many years ago. Some of them make me laugh harder than anything. Others make me cry. I just want you to know that, I’m 23 now, but our childhood was still one of the most crucial parts of my life. I still think about those days, and long for them like nothing else.
