Warmth, she receives warmth in his eyes before he turned away. That warmth quickly bleeds away to a steady burn with a hint of indifference from Enji. “You mean the night a naive yuki-onna mistook me for a human while I attempted to find some souls?” His voice was distant, his eyes staring out into the building storm of the window as he showed Natsuo how to tend the fire. His hands brushed closer and closer to the fireplace. So close to the flames but they didn’t burn. Not anymore.
