The Jurassic World films incorporated more and more animatronics with each installment, but then Rebirth reset everything to zero. Whether or not the next installment gets any pre-production is a big deciding factor, but I think it's even more important for the filmmakers to actually script things that animatronics can do—and I don't think that's been a big focus for the last decade.

Would love to hear more about your take on this. Should she have been cut in on the back end? If her contract didn't include that, would it have been more equitable to throw in a bonus? I don't know enough about the industry to have an informed opinion.

Below-the-line talent almost never receive cuts of the profits and it certainly doesn't sound like anything illegal happened, but given just HOW profitable Obsession was, I think it would've made sense—not just "business sense," but sense as human beings—to cut the whole production in on the profits with some bonuses after the fact. I think it would set a great precedent.

Instead, we've just got interns scouring Reddit for movie-ideas that studios don't need to pay for.
