Being an adult isn’t falling in love or having a mortgage or even getting married; being an adult is knowing that life is fragile and that life is short and that people who love us, even if only a little, are worth it. It’s knowing when to speak up and when to stay quiet, and knowing when to fight, when to back down and when to just walk away. Truly being an adult is knowing and believing that the compromises we make will, in the end, pay off.Â
