CodyWan AU Fest

What we are: We are a community-based prompt fest. Which means every year, we open up a prompt form where everyone is allowed to submit as many prompts as they want as many times as they want, until the prompt form closes.

We then have prompt voting, where (again) you can vote as many times as you want until voting closes. And then we have prompt elimination from the voting round. Basically, a prompt death match for any prompt that was on the cusp of making it in the first round. Once we have our two voting rounds, we have a finalized list and we release it into the wild, provide content creators 8 weeks to create, and then give everyone a wonderful treat on the announced date.

You do not need to do all the prompts. As the FAQ says:

Hello! There were no sign ups and we'd be happy to have you! Posting for the event (on AO3) opens today, October 19 and runs through the 30th. If you'd like to post on tumblr only, please post your works on the 31st.

Otherwise, the only real deadline you have is the 30th (no works will be accepted into the collection on the 31st when the collection is revealed).

No, the point of the AUFest is to do sort of a Halloween gift to the fandom — which is why you can post to the AO3 collection but it doesn’t get revealed until the 31st.

Hello! It was a submitted prompt so I can't speak to the intention of the submitter, but it was probably intended to be a Bounty Hunter & Crechemaster love story. But that's the great thing about events like this, you can kind of read them any way you want (if you want to be creative about it).

It could be Crechemaster & a Bounty Hunter.

It could be a Crechemaster who is ALSO a Bounty Hunter.

I'm sure there's a couple other ways to read it, also, but your mod just woke up and hasn't had coffee yet.

Point being -- the prompts are there to inspire. If it's inspired you to write a Crechemaster AU but no Bounty Hunter, then go for it! We're not going to prompt police you and say you don't fit in our event. That's not what the AU Fest is about. Mostly we're here to bring good fun to the fandom and give everyone a nice treat on Halloween (best. day. ever.) but yeah.

This year, we have 8 prompts and 4 scenarios. As a reminder of our timelines and some housekeeping:

Creators have 9 weeks from today to create their works

The AO3 Collection will be created mid-September and announced here

Posting opens on AO3 on October 19 and will run until October 30; all works will remain Unrevealed!!

The Collection will reveal on October 31st!!

We've adjusted the timeline a little to reflect that we didn't get as many prompts as we have in previous years, so this is our only round of voting. But!! That means you get an extra week to create and that prompts will be announced on August 31st!

Hello! This is just a friendly reminder that there are only 6 DAYS LEFT until prompt submissions close for the 2025 CodyWan AU Fest. I would hate for anyone to not have their prompt be listed so please make sure to turn those in! Guidelines and link to the submission form can be found here. 

Additionally please share and reblog to get the word out about this event! This is the fourth year for this event and I would love to see it still going strong with plenty of momentum to carry it on into next year so please, please, please get those prompts in and get the word out.

You can submit multiple AUs in one form submission (but please use line breaks, data monkey would appreciate)

You can submit images for AU prompts

You can submit AU scenarios

The form will be open until noon, CST on August 22, 2025. Voting will begin on August 24, 2025!

Do you have a deep abiding love of Age of Sail? Would you throw down for a Tatooine Husbands AU? Do you know everything there is to know about some niche historical period? Mythology? A favorite MMORPG? Do you daydream (on the regular) how Cody and Obi-Wan would act if you threw them into the world of your favorite other fandom? Or even your favorite coffee shop?

Announcing the Codywan AU Fest!

We are a laid-back event with no minimum requirements for any fan work created for the Fest. So long as Cody and Obi-Wan are the main focus of your AU-created fan work, anything goes!

Everyone will be able to submit their favorite AU prompt, scenario, or image prompt. Once all prompts have been submitted, you get to vote and tell us what your favorites are! Once finalized, content creators will have 8 weeks to work on their creation(s), so you can do as many, or as few, as you want.

Prompt Submissions open on August 10, and will be open for 2 weeks

Prompt Voting will begin on August 23, with another, final elimination round to follow

Final Prompts will be announced on September 6 - 7

AO3 Posting begins October 19 and ends on October 30

Collection Reveal is October 31!
