Behold! A wild Desmond has appeared in the area, stumbling about and knocking over a noisy trashcan with a slurred giggle. Looks like somebody had a rough day at the bar or accidentally drank something he shouldn't have.
The clatter of a trashcan drew Alexās attention from the rooftop, and before his conscious mind had registered it, his instincts had determined it was weak and prey. Dropping down to street level as quietly as he could, Alex crept through the alley, looking for his prey target.
Pause.
Yes, it was a weak and disoriented human male, but no, it wasnāt a target; heād recognize that underlying scent anywhere, no matter what it was covered with.
āā¦Desmond?ā Alex asked, feeling thrown off kilter from switching tracks so fast. Switching to hunting mode was easy, coming out of it when he hadnāt even caught something was uncomfortable at best. āWhat the hell are you doing out here?ā As far as he was concerned, Desmond belonged safe indoors, not outside practically falling over.
Worriedly, Alex slunk over and examined Desmond for wounds.
nightswatchbar:
A startled yet sluggish noise slipped from Desmondās throat as he was scooped up, the air seeming to spin and his body reaallyyy not enjoying whatever it was theyād pumped him full of. āAlex, s-snakes.ā He whimpered, curling into the virusā hold and a cold sweat breaking out over his skin as his hallucinations progressed into scarier territory.
By the time they got to the morgue the poor human was an absolute mental mess and drooling against Alexās neck, trying not to retch again after the jostling of the run here.
āR-Raaaaglaanndd?ā He slurred, eyes unfocused and breath sharply hitching when he saw the tendrils clinging to him, his hallucinating mind seeing snakes coming from Alexās arms. āNot a mouse, n-no taasttee good.ā He whimpered, hesitantly poking one of the āsnakesā and quickly drawing his finger back, not wanting to get bit.
When Ragland finally appeared Desmond would be absolutely mortified to learn later that the sight of the doctor made him burst into tears, the drug wrecking his emotional control and reminding him of the lab coat wearing goons that had drugged him in the first place. āD-Dont waaannaa nutheer shoott, noo!!ā He squirmed in Alexās hold, crying and hiding his face in the otherās neck, the puncture mark on his neck more visible now. āAlex safe, A-Alexā¦..A-A-Aā¦..ā the drug was progressing the longer it went unchecked, stunting his already slurred speech and turning the human into a nervous, trembling bundle in front of the doctor, clinging to Alex and itching furiously at his neck, like he could scratch the stuff out of him. āB-B-Baittt for the s-snaakkee. Dun eeattt mee!ā
"Mr Miles. As nice as it is to see you, I wish it was under better circumstances," Ragland sighed. "There won't be any more shots, or any eating."
"Alex, please set him down on the table and fetch a detox kit and a cold compress," he directed, both to give Alex something to do and to separate him from Desmond. For the most part Ragland trusted Alex, but Alex was, at his core, not human, and thus he couldn't be expected to react as a human. And Redlight had an alarming tendency to eat its wounded.
Scowling, Alex set Desmond down on the table as gently as he could, then trotted off to locate the needed items. He had to go human-slow; he couldn't afford to attract attention at this point.
"You're safe here," Ragland assured softly, slowly coming closer, and reaching to rearrange Desmond so he could get a better look at his neck. "Now then, Mr. Miles, let's have a look at that wound."

Said human tried to spin around at the call of his name, coherent enough to still remember that at least. His eyes were unfocused and his gait unsteady as he squinted at the newcomer. Glazed over eyes brightened a bit in recognition, his brain telling him to go to Alex, that heād keep him safe in hisā¦.condition.
āAlex!!! Preettyyy snakess!ā He slurred, clearly out of it and staggering closer, words a mess even if his brain was clearly trying to say something. āSnaakkeessā¦..Alex, youā¦.bad.ā He gulped, heart rate sluggish and glazed eyes trying to meet his own, slumping against him helplessly, a drug cocktail flowing through his veins, disguised to look like he was drunk.
The poor little human was still trying to warn him, slumped against Alexās front and sluggish hand going to rub at his back where his glazed over brain remembered the feeder tendrils were. āBad s-s-snaakeessā¦.dont-hiccup-dont touch u-unleessā¦bad sstuff. Aleexx s-saidā He promptly turned his head and retched, body trembling and helpless as the sound of vans was heard in the distance, Desmond bringing a hand up to shakily itch at a small puncture wound in his neck.
Alex frowned as he watched Desmond stagger closer, wrapping the human in his arms when his legs gave out. "No snakes," he purred, trying to sooth his human even though he was beginning to panic himself. He was built for killing, not for making things better. People who relied on him died.
"You want a doctor, or do you want to go to the ER?" he asked, falling back on one of his memory's experiences, cadence shifting ever so slightly as Alex brought the man's mind to the forefront of his mental chorus. Desmond might be drunk, or drugged, or poisoned, or whatever, but the man's experience was telling him that Desmond really should be examined by a professional.
He let out a low displeased rumble as the man retched, turning to a snarl when he heard a too close van. It didn't matter if it was related to Desmond's current problem or not, it was too close for his paranoia to be comfortable. Not waiting any longer for Desmond's answer, Alex just scooped him up bridal style and ran.
It wasn't too long before he was slipping into his doctor's morgue, cradling Desmond close, a few subconscious tendrils leaking from his arms to cling to his human. "Don't worry, Desmond. Ragland's good. He'll fix what's wrong with you." Hopefully. There was plenty that Ragland couldn't fix (that Alex had learned from unfortunate experience), but at least the doctor was good about figuring things out.

Alex cocked his head at the accusation, cross referencing the term through Ā stolen memories. It was enough to get him to laugh, the sound horribly off and inhuman, something that was only mimicking humanity. He might hate what he was and where he came from, but he was still proud of his evolution, of his growth. Heād clawed his way to the top of the food chain, literally at times, and there was no way he counted as something as minor as a mini-boss.
But she kept talking, getting a low rumble of amusement from him. āNow why would I do that? Youāre the most interesting thing Iāve seen in a while.ā
Glimmering blaze-orange eyes narrowed slightly ā that LAUGH. It didnāt sound right; it sounded unhingedĀ and forcedĀ like something DEMONIC. Crazy. Sheād have to be careful.Ā
That bristle along her back intensified and that UGLY SQUIRMINGĀ feeling she got in her gut when she was nervousĀ began to take hold. Originally sheād figured Uroburos had remodeled her insides as extensively as it had her destroyed arm, and that was the source of that awful WRIGGLINGĀ feeling, but now sheād chalked it up to an increased sensitivity to the physical responses of her body to stimuli ā in this case, intense unease.Ā
āWell, because I donāt know who you are, and I donāt need any TROUBLEĀ with you.āĀ
That wasnāt a threat ā in fact, it was quite the opposite. She hoped it hadnāt come off as FEARFUL ā she was decidedly averse to squaring up with whatever this dude was, but that hardlyĀ meant she would cower and beg if he turned hostile.Ā
āNothing thatĀ interesting. Just a little VIRUS ACCIDENT.ā And a plane crash. And countless hours of self-experimentation. Letās just pretend NONE OF THAT HAPPENED.Ā
Alex chuckled. "I guess you could say the same for me." Only it wasn't an accident. It had been very, very intentional on his creator's part. And while the virus involved might have started small, he sure as hell didn't stay that way.
So kind of not really the same, but close enough. And more importantly, not too close.
"So what happened?" he asked, missing the small signs that she wanted him gone. As far as he was concerned, she wasn't shooting him, and she hadn't actually told him to go, so she didn't want him gone just yet.

Normally, a SMART-ASS REMARKĀ like that one might have gotten her attacked, and that had been what she was expecting ā to the point where sheād already been tensed and ready to dart out of harmās way with that inhuman speed of hers. Sure, sheād crashed into wallsĀ the first few times using it, but now that sheād gotten the hang of it, it had proven quite USEFULĀ in getting her out of engagements that became too close for comfort.Ā
āLet me guess. Youāre the nextĀ MINI-BOSS in this fuckinā horror gameĀ that my life is lately.āĀ
The gloved fingers of her right hand flexed in anticipation. He hadĀ to have been sent after her, some secret B.O.W. that even SHEĀ hadnāt known about despite her (exceptionally brief) position of privilege. After all, they hadĀ to have a contingency plan, especially after her series of ESCAPES.Ā
But, like her, otherĀ projects had a certain disdain, even HATRED, for their handlers ā depending on their mental states. Perhaps the attack on the agent had been a manifestation of exactly that, and that meant she now had LEVERAGE.Ā
āHow about this ā I go snag the next asshole who comes along, pitch him your way, you do your freaky Japanese-tentacle-porn-slash-mauling thing, and YOU NEVER SAW ME.ā
Alex cocked his head at the accusation, cross referencing the term through Ā stolen memories. ā⦠Oh, sweet. Finally something new to actually fuckinā eat around here. You went out just to get me some snacks?ā Her expression softened as she took the shopping bag from him.
āItās getting harder to move around out there without being noticed. Thanks, Alex.ā A hand suffering from early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome fished a bag of chips out. Not her brand, but whatever ā snacks were snacks, and she was grateful. Dana pulled it open. Crunch.
āYou get yourself anything?ā asked in the middle of a mouthful of chips. Not really a question she stopped to think about.
Alex hesitated before shaking his head. "I'm good. Is there something specific you want me to look for next time?" And with the way Dana reacted, there most certainly would be a next time. He'd hunt the whole damn island to get her what she wanted.
vaecordxa:
She was AGGRESSIVE, sure, but she was not stupid. As she watched the thingĀ grab hold of and just ABSORB the man like some monster out of a shitty horror movie, she kept her distance. It wasnāt like she had a reason to fight him for the guy; and even if she didĀ the speed and relative ease of the gruesome demise sheād just witnessed might have changed her mind. This was no Tyrant, or Licker, or horde of flailing idiot zombies. This was STRANGEĀ and when she encountered something she hadnāt yet she generally preferred to stand back and let someone elseĀ get killed ā learn from theirĀ mistake before she thought about attacking.Ā
At one point she might have identified the (man? creature?) thingĀ as another UROBUROS variant, but that was before sheād had her own accidentĀ with the virus. She knew better now.Ā
Slitted pupils dilated ever so slightly as she SCRUTINIZEDĀ the other, the gleaming orange of her irises lending a certain monstrousĀ quality to a creature who was otherwise quite nonthreatening. She was no ugly beast, nor was she particularly large ā maybe a few inches shorter than the other, and minus fifty or sixty pounds. All the THREAT DISPLAYĀ she countered with was in the way she moved; a slow, unhurried, predatory stalk, her stance lowĀ but not COWERING.Ā
āIāve never seen SPAGHETTI used as a weaponĀ before.ā
He'd been expecting screams. Or snarls, or being attacked, or anything else but - "Spaghetti?" he asked, head cocked to the side like a crow. He twisted just enough to keep her in sight (displaying an inhuman amount of flexibility) but otherwise he seemed rather unworried about her stalk.
And while she was new, which was always appetizing intriguing, she was conversing, which, in his rather admittedly limited experience, meant she wasn't going to attack. Which meant he wasn't going to attack. He might be an abomination of science, but he still appreciated a conversation every now and then.
Besides, 'spaghetti' was a new one. He was curious to see what else she had to say.
It wasnāt as if Dana was unused to Alex just suddenly dropping in, not after things had changed and Blackwatch was on their asses. But she still found herself hesitating ever-so-slightly whenever the door creaked open.
She stole a quick glance over her shoulder and felt her body go slack with relief on recognizing her brother. No goons this time.
āHey, Alex. Guessing itās still hell out there⦠but at least you get to go out. At this rate Iām gonna become a total fucking hermit. If youāre looking for any new information I havenāt intercepted anything meaningful.ā
Dana didnāt expect much from her brotherās visits. Heād drop in, grab some info, and get lost in the maze of New York again, and sheād watch the aftermath online. It was a depressing existence⦠but it wasnāt much different than what she knew.
@codenamezeus1118
"I... didn't come back for information," Alex started as he slipped inside, still a bit uncomfortable actually dealing with people.
He held up the shopping bag, its contents barely fitting inside. "Brought you some snacks." It didn't take a genius to see Dana wasn't happy, and Alex had been trying to think of something that would help. Consuming always helped him, maybe Dana just needed something good to eat? He hoped that was true. He really, really hoped that he wasn't misreading the situation.
It turned out getting decently fresh food was a hell of a lot harder than just knocking over the closest infected water tower. He wasn't even sure he'd gotten the right stuff, but for Dana he'd brave even the most crowded convenience store.
moonbearmiles:
A squeak came from below him as they were rolled, Desmond suddenly finding himself looking up at a very happy virus and his warm weight pressing him down, keeping him good and pinned in a way that wasnāt uncomfortable but ensure he wouldnāt be able to move much. Oopsā¦..maybe he should have stopped rubbing the bulges when Alex got overstimulated the first time. He always was too curious for his own good.Ā
A blush settled on his cheeks as Alex nuzzled at his neck, swallowing audibly and continued to rub the tendrils beneath the skin, curious as to how it was affecting his normally grumpy virus.Ā āThe onesĀ ām not supposed to touch right? Cause theyāll spike me an eat me?ā he giggled, waggling his eyebrows as he kneaded at said tendrils, wanting to make nice with all of Alex.Ā āHey, you technically could probably keep someone likeā¦.in you. Snack for later. I dunno, they donāt exactly teach Blacklight Anatomy 101 in school. Not that I went to much school.āĀ
āThough I guess lesson one to make a virus happy is to find his lumpy spots andā¦a-andā¦ā¦A-Alex!ā¦nnnghā¦.ā His words faltered mid-sentence, the quirky comment heād been saying dying and turning into a quivering, breathy little whine. Those tendrils were everywhere under his shirt, ghosting over his skin and making his breath hitch as they slipped over his ribs, squirming beneath the virusā bulk and torn between giggling and groaning. Wide eyes glanced up into Alexās own as he leaned in, caged in and shivering as their lips met, giving another squeeze to one of the hidden tendrils and meeting Alex for the kiss. Lips parted with a whine as one tendril traced over his sensitive sides, just by his rib cage. Shirt rippling with the movement of little tendrils, Desmond melted into the kiss, snug beneath Alexās warmth and weight and fingers blindly stroking at the feeder tendrils masses as he arched up into the attention, unsure of how to really respond to a curious virus pinning him down.Ā
"Yeah, those," he attempted to grumble. It came out more of a whine, to his embarrassment. "'n my anatomy's what'ver I - we - want."
Alex moaned, the tendrils under Desmond's insistent hands finally coaxed out despite Alex's usual control. Acting as if they had a mind of their own, one pair wrapped tightly around Desmond's arms to prevent the human from pulling away, the second lower wrapping tight and needy around Desmond's middle, right over that sensitive spot they picked up on. There was no hiding their strength; they could easily crush Desmond with little effort, yet they were as silky soft as all the other tendrils Desmond had touched so far.
The virus's earlier fears proved to be unfounded, or at least made without complete information. The virus was never meant to be alone, and thanks to Desmond's companionship and care, Blacklight itself categorized Desmond as kin and thus not suitable for consumption. There was no point biting the hands that fed them, not now anyway.
Which left Alex at a loss of what actually to do. He wanted, no, needed more, but he didn't feel the need to consume. "Fuck, Des," he groaned, resting his forehead against Desmond's shoulder, finding it hard to catch his breath. Later he'd worry and check his human over for the slightest cut, but now he'd have to kill something if they stopped.

āIā¦..I like it with you especiallyā¦..ā Desmond mumbled, blushing bright red and fidgeting with the edge of his shirt. He really enjoyed Alexās weight atop him and the way heād wrap both body and tendrils around him, the purring and even the way he justā¦.stared sometimes, even though it tended to make Desmond self conscious.Ā āLike how youā¦.s-sometimes you just feel like youāre all around me, everywhere. Makes me feel all warm and safe, just makes me imagine being wrapped up in a cocoon of tendrils and Alex.āĀ
And anyone he wanted for roleplaying? He was curious and could already imagine some things to try out. Likeā¦.maybe a cop in uniform? Orā¦.or experiment with whatever lady!Alex would look like? Could Alex split himself and do twins? Maybe evenā¦..maybe even have him go a little darker, a little rough. Hell Desmond could get jumped in the back of a club and not even know it was actually Alex jumping him. Heād have to get him a belled collar.Ā
āDo you have any uhā¦.virus-y fantasies? Aside from consuming my dna and splicing to make little viruses.ā He glanced down as Alex arched into the touch, kneading at the lumps beneath his skin and peering closer, curious. Were theyā¦.moving? He worked his fingers around them, rubbing at the odd lumps and stroking down the length of them, trying to figure it out.Ā āFeels good at bad? Likeā¦..it hurts but a good hurt or it feels nice but too much? What about this? Seriously Alex, youāve got weird lumps,Ā ām not pressing down on a half digested villain am I? Thatād be weird.ā He giggled, stroking them again and lightly squeezing, trying to figure them out.Ā āWonder what happens if I push riiigghhttā¦.hereā¦ā He moved his fingers to where the two masses of muscle or whatever converged, kneading down on the spot between them and poking, too curious for his own good.
"Too good," Alex rumbled, eyes slipping shut at the onslaught. With a low huff he rolled them both, ending with himself on top, straddling Desmond's waist. He made sure not to put too much weight on the man; he didn't want a crushed Desmond, after all, just making sure Desmond didn't go anywhere.
Nuzzling Desmond's neck, he added absently, "'s feeder tendrils, not 'half digested' anything." Honestly, Desmond had the weirdest ideas sometimes. Consuming was all or nothing.
Needing to do something to retaliate, he slipped tendrils under the man's shirt to trace along his skin, hands braced on either side of Desmond's head as he leaned in for a kiss.
vaecordxa:
She wasĀ SURPRISED, to say the least, when the desperately crawling man was snatchedĀ away from her by ā- what the hellĀ was that?! Flinching back ever so slightly, she followed the manās rapid upward departure from the alley with orange-gold eyes GLOWINGĀ in mild alarm, and when she pieced together that the thingĀ that had grabbed him was alive she felt the spiky scales that lay along her spine bristle beneath her coat.Ā
She hatedĀ that.Ā
A dangerous mix of curiosity and aggression coiled in her gut, sending her vaulting up onto the dumpster and commencing a short upward zigzag between the close walls of the buildings; within the space of a few seconds she HOISTEDĀ herself up on the ledge her quarry had been whisked over and immediately set her weight on her toes, prepared to fightĀ or RUN. The second was less likely ā the accidental mixĀ of viruses in her system had all but suppressed her ability to feel fear, and it manifested instead as anger. That had been herĀ kill. HERS. The instinct was almost animal; she was like some wild predator in the way she stalked her targets and claimed territory, except she did not EATĀ what she caught.Ā
She killed for revenge.Ā
Now, though, her focus was less on her previous target ā and more on whatever unidentified BOW had stolenĀ him. Mentally, she ran a sort of checklist, attempting to deduce what it was by the mere glimpse sheād had of it; the only thing that immediately came to mind was an affliction like her own, and that was HARDLY a good sign.Ā
Alex was very, very good at what he was made for; the rapid infection and conversion of human flesh. It sounded almost clinical when put that way. The reality was much more horrifying.
With a flick of his whipfist, Alex slammed the poor bastard onto the rooftop; if the human wasn't dying before, he certainly was now. Another flick, and countless black tendrils reached out to bury themselves in the man's flesh, liquidating him and converting him into yet more writhing black tendrils before the mass of former human was pulled back into Alex. A quick shiver of his biomass, and it slicked down into his preferred form.
It took maybe 15 seconds, no more.
Not quite fast enough to avoid putting on a display for the other infected, but then again Alex wasn't quite sure what to do about her. She wasn't family, which was good, but she was still infected, which countless Blackwatch soldiers assured him was very, very bad.
Eyes narrowed, he ruffled his biomass, short (for him) spines and tendrils crawling along his arms and shoulders before they stilled and he looked human once more. It was a silent warning that whatever her intentions were, Alex was not prey.
origami-assassin:
āUnless you want to risk the guyās life, youād better know a way to deactivate this thing before we go.Ā Or create a Faraday cage around it so we donāt take them right to this doctor friend of yours.āĀ Why should she trust him?Ā Well, to be honest she really didnāt want this thing in her and it occurred to her that if he wanted to hurt her, he would have probably by now.
So maybe he was actually interested in helping her.
He let out a low hiss at that, the sound tapering into words, "Shit. Damn, you're right. Okay, change of plans. There's a former military base five blocks east, nothing goes there." Mainly because Alex had a tendency to haunt the area. "The med bay's still kind of intact. We get you there, and then Ragland, and then he'll fix you up.
"Sound good?"
moonbearmiles:
āIā¦I do not have a tentacle kink!ā Desmond yelped, voice going higher pitched and face bright red. So maybe heād been curious about tendrils and happened upon someā¦..interesting stuff on the internet but so far theyād just snuggled him and been fun wriggly things to play with and feed truffles.Ā āIā¦.itāsā¦.I mean, maybe a littleā¦.b-but you canāt blame me for being curious, Iāve never seen stuff like that before.āĀ
His cheeks only flushed darker as one tendril caressed his lip and over the scar, shivering and fidgeting with his hands, still self-conscious about the scar. Though having Alex pay attention to it like this wasā¦.nice. Made it feel more okay and less horrifyingly ugly.Ā āI guess I like umā¦.being restrained? Nothing hardcore, justā¦.more the comfort of being held down and all nice and snug beneath someone. And Iāve always wanted to tryā¦ā he squirmed a bit, embarrassed by the conversation.Ā āM-Maybe roleplaying a little? Iā¦I kinda have to have sex before I can know what I like about it.ā he snorted, rolling his eyes.Ā āIāve done oral and kissing before and fumbled my way through a few handjobs but otherwise Iām as clueless as a-ā¦.I was going to sayĀ āvirusā but youāve got all the memories, you probably know the damn karma sutra at this point.ā
Desmond slumped in relief when Alex came back to his senses, still casting worried glances at him, the tendrils around his arm helping to reassure him. He knew it was silly to think heād hurt Alex via back massage but it was difficult to gauge reactions from the other when the other was a heap of goop and tendrils and whatever else the hell he really must look like. And now Des would try not to giggle at the mental image of SillyPutty!Alex and how squishy heād be.
He blinked at the rumble, biting his lip to keep from making a cat comment and doing as Alex asked, pressing back down on the area and kneading down his back, working out any kinks or knots he found. There was one area on his back in the lower center that feltā¦.huh. Like there was a mass of connecting tendrils beneath the skin or a knot or something. Desmond rubbed at it, determined to try and turn Alex into a happy goop puddle and help him relax for once.Ā
āAlex Mercer, felled by nefarious fingers.ā he laughed, really working on that one spot and concentrating, curious as to whether the virus would respond and how.Ā āTell me where it feels good and bad so I know, donāt wanna accidentally press down on aĀ ātime to eatā point or something.ā he joked, playfully poking at the base of his neck and massaging his shoulders.Ā āThe longer I massage you the longer I get to put off going outside and getting groceries so just kept on relaxing, itās snowing outside.ā
"Restrained, huh?" Alex smirked. "I can do that." Happily, even. He rather loved wrapping himself around Desmond and soaking in his living warmth; even though his core temperature was back to feverish, something about being curled against Desmond, feeling his pulse, hearing his breath, was ... not hunger inducing, as it was was with other humans, but... engrossing, something he could watch for hours at a time. He should probably be worried at the change, he should definitely seek out his doctor to see if it was something to panic about, but he really couldn't bring himself to care.
"Roleplay too, anyone you want." That wasn't something he was interested in, but if Desmond wanted it, he'd get it. Maybe it'd even be fun to use his disguises like that. Maybe... he should track down that asshole who gave Desmond his impressive scar later. Just in case.
The massage was lovely, right until Desmond hit his lower back. Groaning, he arched back into the touch, eyes fluttering closed. He hadn't thought that his feeder tendrils remained so close to the surface, but that felt incredible and so very not relaxing. "F-fuck," he rasped as Desmond turned his horribly wonderful attention towards other spots. "Both, I think."
@codenamezeus1118
So her little DISGUISEĀ hadnāt been enough.Ā
Sheād done her bestĀ to blend in with the civilian population, but evidently Tricell was on their game this time. Theyād found her. Unfortunately for them.Ā
Theyād opted for a more discreet means of locating her this time, but sheād picked out the agent tailing her in short order. And promptly led him to a rooftop, from which sheād KICKEDĀ him down into an alleyway. Now, peering down over the ledge and almost wincingĀ at the metallic CRASH of the manās body hitting a dumpster two stories below, she readied herself to jump down and finishĀ him with a slight grin.Ā
āShoulda found a BETTERĀ line of work, buddy.āĀ
Vaulting nimbly over the edge, she landed a mere ten feet from the groaning man ā his legsĀ were broken; sheād hoped the fall would kill him ā and slowly flexed the hand of the arm completely covered by her jacket as she approached. The B.O.W. debated shrugging off both coat and glove and dealing with him in the brutal fashion she felt he deserved, but she didnāt feel like making this any more MESSYĀ than it had to be.Ā
It had become a hobby of Alex's, really. Gentek, Umbrella, Tricell... all the big names were just flags to catch his attention at this point. It was always fun to stalk them as they worked, picking out lone individuals, and striking. If they wanted to play with genetics, then they really should be prepared for it to backfire.
The poor bastard that had caught his attention this time seemed to be hunting a target of his own - something Alex's senses labeled as familiar, something altered, something almost family. It was enough to make him bristle, his form shivering as spines appeared and melted back into leather and jeans just as fast. He'd learned enough to know that family never ended well.
And then the altered human found his target, and kicked him off the roof.
Torn between amusement and irritation - that was his target, dammit - he kicked his ass into gear and bolted towards the roof edge after the two. Right arm breaking down into a coiled mess of elastic tendrils, he barely bothered to slow down as he vaulted over the alley and lashed out with his modified arm. The heavy, almost blunt claws buried themselves in the agent's chest and then he was yanked up out of the alley and out of sight.
