I'm Not A Sidekick

          [ He huffs, flexing his fingers into his fist, but he           wasn’t so hesitant to let her make the first move ]           Sometimes, I wish you guys would just subtract           the years I was frozen–  [ Throwing the first punch           at her, he aimed for her abdomen ]

               How old ARE you anyway? Not counting the time                you were frozen. [ Conversational or not, she doesn’t               miss the swing, lurching away from him with a huff as               she sweeps a leg out to catch him behind an ankle. ]

         [ Leading into the gym, he turns back to her and rolls          his eyes, then goes to setting up the training ring ] Ha–          For an old man, I think I’ve done pretty alright for myself.          [ Putting up his fists he nods to her ] Lets see if your bite          is just as good as your bark.

              [ Laughing lightly, she nodded as she followed,               cracking her knuckles as a smirk spread across               her face. ] Nah, my bite’s way worse. Take it easy               on me though, I’m too young to have my ego                wounded by a senior citizen.                

       [ He frowned a bit ] Dad jokes? Really? [ That was a        low blow. His jokes weren’t that bad, were they ] I        thought it was pretty good–

            They are, generally. But that doesn’t mean             they’re not full of dad jokes, you know? Probably             comes with age. [ She’s teasing. Mostly. ] 

           You did just hit me– Though, it takes legs to run.            [ He smirks ] You’re right though. I would. [ There            goes his own ]

          Ooo, listen to you. If I didn’t know you told dad           jokes on your down time, I’d think you had an           attitude.

            Punching stuff actually sounds like a great             idea. [ Get out some steam ] Lets do it–

            I’d race you there, but you’d win, so.....

          No pressure or anything.

             [ More than she believed in anyone ELSE. ]              You wanna -- I dunno, head to the gym and              punch some stuff?
