you can do this. stop sabotaging yourself and your dreams. there will be risks, there will be stress, but go on and actually pursue what you want to do. you will not regret having tried, all things considered. self-doubt can destroy so much of your life. don’t let it, please.
for these past weeks I have been gathering resources for my studies. since I’m trying to switch jobs I have a general idea of what I should study, so to start I gathered some resources on the first two subjects: HTML and JavaScript. after that I started skimming through them all to see where I am in terms of knowledge and made a roadmap of what I should study.
I think one of the hardest parts of learning how to code is knowing where to start, since there are so many programming languages and paradigms out there so i want to share the list I made, of all the subjects and of these two languages, and also the links.
These are the subjects I wanna study this semester:
HTML
JavaScript
CSS
JQuery
Bootstrap
Git/Github
MySQL
PHP
Agile Development
Automated Tests
Continuous Deploy
Continuous Integration
The resource I'm using for all of HTML and the beggining of JavaScript is HTMLDog. (HTML itself is quite simple, and I already have some experience, so this is the only thing I'll read about it).
Since JavaScript has a lot of sub-topics I'm starting the advanced part with the series of books "You Don't Know JS" by Kyle Simpson. you can read it online for free, and it also gives you links to the stores where you can buy the physical copy.
As soon as I'm done reading them I'll start studying ReactJS and NodeJS. I'll also share the links of the resources I'll use (I haven't really looked into it yet).
Hello. I'm Yasmin, I'm brazillian and I'm a software developer in the making. I made this studyblr for some reasons:
1. I'm trying to change jobs, so I need to study some new development related stuff
2. I dropped out of college this year, and I want to study at home so it doesn't fell like a wasted year
3. I really need (and always needed) to create the discipline to sit down and study, because not being able to do that really hindered my progress in life basically.
I'm not really sure how to go about it tho, but I guess I'll start but posting my study plans, as soon as I finish them (lol).
