Zero to Infinity

Still, on track I've used the Pomodoro system, and I gotta say it really helps me focus

I may end up studying for 2 or 3 hours a day , it's not much of a time but I guess itll help me create the habit

Oh I forgot to mention that I bought a new laptop , it'll be delivered tomorow and I can't wait .

Anyway , what I'm working on lately is the Javascript documentation of  Javascript on MDN

Someone told me when I was just starting to just jump into frameworks and I found that a really bad terrible advice

I know my method is gonna take much longer but it would be better that not having an idea what the fuck I'm doing

untill now my weak points are understanding some of the syntax like Throw, Try and Catch , they're really confusing but I guess it'll be better over time .

I've been trying to cover some CSS  in my study time but I'm having a shitty sleeping pattern that I end up  only studying two or three hours only devoted for Javascript .

So, Javascript hasn’t been treating me so well lately, after finishing 107 challenges of basic Javascript on FreeCodeCamp I felt so much confident but also insecure about my learning strategy. 

Am I doing this right ? should I read docs or watch tutorials or both, when can I start building things ? and Algorithms? WTF 

Those couple of days haven't been the best of my coding journey, I feel this getting harder every day and honestly, I have no idea how to overcome this feeling.

Then I ran into this video, I can’t say it solved the whole problem but knowing that what I’m going through is totally normal calmed my nerve a little bit.

The original code from tutorials point was

I really can’t see what’s the difference between these two so I’ll try using freecodecamp for help 

Update : 

I tried pasting the code on CodePen, and it worked just fine so now I have another problem with my browser I’ll go check that.

Solved!

So, here’s what’s been wrong with my code..not a misspelling, not wrong code 

a Comment mark !! 

In my editor, there was that comment open symbol below the code and when I removed it, Voilà...problem solved and code worked perfectly.

 guys I never knew that was a thing, I mean of course a comment opening will disable a code but when it’s above it..my code wasn’t even commented out! 

Until now I’ve been juggling around randomly picking topics from here and there like how the internet works, what’s an API, what’s a DOM and I’ve wasted  so much time doing that but I wasn’t really sure what I should really learn before jumping to the stack I decided to work with, which is MERN so I searched YouTube for a study plan to save time and I found really good video on Traversy Media called “ What to learn before a Javascript framework” .

Hi..I'm Ola, a 24 year old girl

I came from a medical background, so It's a little strange to make that drastic shift to technology but here's why..

After finishing my college and finally graduating from clinical pharmacy school I realized that it's not really what I want to do with my life, I'm not a person who likes to deal with people in most of my time..so I spent some times looking randomly for jobs here and there but deep down I knew it wasn't what I wanted to do..so what was it?

Programming!...here I said it, I want to be a professional programmer,that's what I see myself doing in next five or ten years, coding.

I learned basic html and css first then I went off the keyboard for about 6 weeks..It was the time when I was a trainee in a hospital then a pharmacy then an interviewee in a big medical corporation, I was still giving this a chance...and I did terrible.

After many day of depression and self-loathing I decided to get back to coding and taking it seriously this time..first when I was learning css I was stalling about starting Javascript thinking that I wasn't ready yet but I did begin learning now and it's a bit challenging for a beginner like me but at least I'm happy with what I'm doing.

I guess this sums up everything about my coding journey so far, next posts will be more technical than personal..I'll try to document my everyday progress..

Ps: My blog is just personal method of motivation for me to go on with my journey as a developer and in the future..a programmer, so excuse me if I said incorrect terms or technical words...I'm here to learn so let's do this
