Does every book need a defined age range? I am thinking of books like 'A Christmas Carol' and 'Huckleberry Finn'. There is no specific audience, and I feel categorizing either of those as 'MG / YA' or 'Adult' is incorrect.
Those are old classics – but yes, new fiction needs to sit somewhere in a Barnes & Noble, so where does it go? The adult section? The YA section? The MG section? It’s necessary from a retail perspective.

INDIGENOUS DEVELOPMENT CRITICAL FOR THE THIRD WORLD; APRIL CONGRESS IN COCHABAMBA, BOLIVIA TO SHARE IDEAS & RESULTS
(Cochabamba, Bolivia, January 22, 2013) UNITEPC University, in conjunction with alternative energy and recycling company ActEner Bolivia, announces the first bi-annual World Congress on Indigenous Development, slated for April 11-13, 2013, in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The primary location of the congress will be the Hotel Cochabamba, in the Recoleta district of that city.
“We are delighted to bring together outstanding leaders in indigenous development from around the world to share their expertise, especially in emerging technologies. By concentrating on medicine and the environment, we can disseminate the most useful tools to implement solutions as rapidly as possible,” said Dr. M.A. Hernán García Arce, Rector of UNITEPC.
“In many cases, we have the tools needed to improve lives today,” noted Ms. Elizabeth Espinoza, President of ActEner. “Putting them to use in a realistic fashion is another matter. We will be focusing on results, methodologies that we know are effective, but may not have received attention they deserve. This congress is about getting the word out.”
The congress will be held at the five-star Hotel Cochabamba, a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Cochabamba’s Recoleta district. Hotel general manager Carlos Contreras Machicado said, “As a hotel that embraces the ‘Green Hospitality’ philosophy, we are honored to partner with the congress, and look forward to sharing our practices with attendees.”
The first bi-annual World Congress on Indigenous Development will be held from April 11-13, 2013. Speakers from Bolivia, Europe and the United States will lecture and lead workshops on emerging technologies impacting indigenous peoples worldwide regarding the environment, extraction industries, medicine and best practices in education and implementation.

Wow! Oak Point is beautifully-written. It seems a very personal account, and although the author might be remembering things that didn't happen, it seems mostly autobiographical. Edward Young’s years of studying the female sensibility have paid off handsomely. The author’s ladies are vividly-drawn, intelligent, funny, sophisticated, and likable. I can't stand the portrayal of women these days in modern lit and movies because most are so unlikable and stupid. To make Countess Mona Von Bismarck, a personage from such a different and remarkable past, so endearing to the reader is truly an accomplishment. The parts with Mona are delightful - the dialogue - the things the author imagined her saying are a joy to read. She's earned every right to speak that way! Even though she's in a league of her own, leading a life most of us can only dream of, there's something universal and candid about her. Ah, to have had so much money....and to have known what to do with it! Edward Young has done a marvelous job with Mona's character. The second part, the one about growing up, is very vivid as well. Much more serious and somber and tinged with nostalgia. Even the funny parts are suffused with nostalgia and sadness for the bygone days. The end is powerful. I kept wanting it to return to Mona, and it did, full circle. In the spirit of realism, the narrator didn't see her again. Yes, that works. However, i wanted more of her! Taffy is very beautifully drawn. Again, intelligent, sophisticated, funny, and very likable. The reader can see why she was such a dominating influence for the narrator. Overall, a very beautiful book. Must have been a cathartic experience for the writer. But to have access to the language, and to be able to put it in such beautiful words is a great accomplishment.
