Thank you all for coming on our journey with us, beginning to end. I hope we have provided a bit of entertainment, especially with his cheeky antics.

Happy boy has had so many cuddles today. He is well loved by everyone on the yard.

Barring any emergencies he will spend the long weekend in the herd field with his friends eating his fill and being pampered and loved and on tuesday we will say our goodbyes.

This is the hardest part of horse ownership and it's the second time I've had to do this. My heart is breaking but he owes me nothing and I will be letting him go before it gets bad enough for him to suffer.

Please please people, if your horse suddenly gets out of breath when it's not normal and has this pulse in the video below, stop riding them while you get the vet out.

Please be kind, this is hard enough.

Spoke to the old vet who saw him a couple of weeks ago who said no abnormalities in his heart when she listened. Which means in under a week he has gone from perfectly healthy to grade 4 heart murmur?

All his bloods came back normal so no infections and there has been no catastrophic injury in the field or when riding.

Unless they find something very strange that they can fix, essentially monster will need to be retired for risk of catastrophic heart failure.

The cardiologist has been called to ultrasound and confirm but the vet was pretty sure.

Vet has come out, bloods taken and he is now off work until we figure out what is making his heart rate so high and fucking with his breathing.

The possibilities are terrifying and I'm freaking out :(
