if you draw diverse bodies with love in your heart, even if you are not very skilled at it yet, your love will shine through and be plain for all to see. similarly, even if you possess a large amount of technical prowess, if you draw diverse bodies cynically and without love, it will end up looking fucking awful. you do not earn my internet woke points unless you actually love your fellow humans.

Pinhead explorations Last year I spent some time doing concept art for the recently released Hellraiser movie. I had to wait a year to be able to share these, but I'm really excited to finally be able to!

The really fleshy direction for Pinhead was in play really early, but I wanted to poke around all the possible ideas to make sure we had eyes on all of them before everything was settled. It's worth noting that this was before the part was cast, so there wasn't an opportunity to consider Jamie Clayton's face or body type.

I'm hoping it comes through in these paintings, I was trying to make Pinhead as sexy as possible while also being as gross as possible. Working to integrate deeply opposing traits is always so much fun and why I find this character so compelling.
