"I practiced kissing with a teddy bear" - Yonghwa (Strong Heart, Ep. 125)
[English] CNBLUE ‘Can’t Stop’ grooving with fans
The Korean band fills us in on their latest music endeavours Korean quartet CNBLUE – made up of Jung Yong-hwa, Lee Jong-hyun, Kang Min-hyuk and Lee Jung-shin – is typically known for their one of a kind music with upbeat catchy guitar riffs. Fresh from their global world tour which took them to North America and South America (Chile and Peru) for the first time, the four charismatic music men will be bringing their music, instruments and sets to Singapore to stage their second full-fledged concert this May. They will be bringing with them musical works from their latest album Can’t Stop, which is largely produced and written by the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, Yong-hwa (guitarist Jong-hyun wrote one song too). Presenting a diverse and more mature sound in their fifth mini-album, Yong-hwa spoke of the band’s decidedly different music-making approach in an e-mail interview with xinmsn. “I waited for this album more than ever with a fluttering heart,” said Yong-hwa, calling it their “comeback” album after wrapping up their Blue Moon world tour. “I also thought that this album is a huge turning point [for us] to show off a new style of music”. A great outlet to showcase CNBLUE’s own music world, he says, ‘Cold Love’ from the album is one of his personal favourite songs. “When we were preparing for the album, Can’t Stop, ‘Cold Love’ was produced first before our title track. It has a very impressive and powerful melody, a thrilling piano score and a mournful feeling [in its sound],” he said. “I always hoped for ‘Cold Love’ to be the title song.” Clearly satisfied with what he has achieved with this musical feat, the remarkable singer-songwriter proudly called ‘Cold Love’ “Yong-hwa’s own music.”
Xinmsn: What was one thing you learned from your first global tour?
CNBLUE: It was so amazing and we’re thankful that there are lots of people who like our music on the opposite side of (the) earth. It will remain as a memorable tour. Also we received passionate energy from the fans we met on our world tour. On our world tour, we felt so appreciated and touched that we could meet lots of fans shouting “CNBLUE”. Share with us your best experience traveling around the world, playing at different venues. The best moment is when the audience sings along to our songs and enjoys themselves impassionedly with dancing! When we see the audience enjoying our performance, we receive their energy and get excited. In a previous interview with a Korean magazine ‘The Star’, CNBLUE talked about being “fearless” when they just debuted and were much younger. What do the members fear most now? We do not fear, but try hard to maintain our original intention. What is something new (or different) you’ll be bringing to your concert in Singapore this year? It would be a good opportunity [for fans] to listen to all the tracks from our new album Can’t Stop. Yong-hwa, how are you preparing for your solo album? What is the concept and what type of sound would it have? My goal to release a solo album is [set to be in] the second half of the year. I cannot tell you much, but I think the album will be produced by me. I hope you’ll enjoy my album.
Fill in the brackets to the below sentences formulated with CNBLUE’s song titles. I ‘Can’t Stop’ doing (music) because (CNBLUE can’t stay far away from music). A ‘Diamond Girl’ is someone who (can shine alone) because (she’s a diamond girl. Haha). ‘Cold Love’ reminds me of (curiosity of what is love). When I’m having a ‘Sleepless night…’ I would (write lyrics). ‘Love is’ (cruel originally~(원래잔인한거야) Hahaha). (Jung-shin) is ‘Like a Child’ because (he is full of charms).

Spanish Trans: CNBLUE.CL / http://www.cnblue.cl source: xinmsn *Take out only with full credits / Puedes tomar esta traducción sólo con los créditos completos*
