I've started working on more game dev projects! I'm going to be shifting my focus from Kritters to a new one I've been working on called Fishinformation. It's about a small town southern rabbit fed up with misinformation about... fish. So, she sets out to clear fishing's name and stop the demonization of... fishing. On this adventure you'll get to know a lot of unfamiliar faces and see a lot of different fishing locales. Following in your grandparent's footsteps, will you be able to sink the lying foxes of the world?

I've barely started this project, but I'm going to push myself to finish it in a year. It's going to be fairly basic because it's my first game. But, I'm going to make something I can be proud of. Wish me luck!

So far it's rlly basic, but I wanted to share this to show the basic idea. Have a nice rest of y'alls' day!

The design is really rough lmao but something similar to what's on the right will probably be the final. The left is closer to what I used to call a Meloncollie, it was from a much older project called Emotiamals (kind of morphed into five different projects before becoming Kritters). Basically it was sad type. Which is funny bc it looks joyous. I worked it into the lore though. Loncollie are like, 90% water (They're a watermelon collie if you couldn't tell). So they need a lot of water throughout the day. During droughts that can be really dangerous for them. So in the wild they built up a symbiotic relationship with another kritter called Ovicast! Loncollie is a (Water)[Plant/Beast] and Ovicast is a kritter that has a varying type and beast kind. The type varies based off the weather: Water for rain, Neutral for none, Wind for snow, and Earth for sandstorms. In the wild Ovicast were a pretty easy target. So, in exchange for summoning rain clouds to keep Loncollie from going thirsty, Loncollie would keep them safe. The idea behind this is that Beast kritters are typically week to Drake kritters, however- Plant kritters are strong against Drake kritters. So- a plant/beast kritter would stand a better chance against Ovicast's main predator! :D Just a big old rambly post about a couple of kritters. I'm up to somewhere around 60 kritters now. I've got like three different designs in the works. I've also started working on coding the actual game part of this. It's slow going because I've not used unity in about a year. But, i've got a lot of experience with it so I'm figuring it all out again. Excited to keep working on this! I need to get a different job though my current one is mainly part time, and I'll probably not get any hours over the summer. I can always doordash but I'd like something more consistent.

Salamatabo (Water)[Drake] <Salamander + Metabolism>: Lives at the bottom of lakes, sleeping and floating along. When it yawns it draws in water and small kritters that didn't see it, eating them. They're biologically immortal in the same way lobsters are. They primarily eat tiny, water kritters like Ebbengot or Brackibo.

Penkussion (Wind/Metal)[Varies] <P'eng + K'un + Percussion + phonetically similar to pin cushion (referencing the next kritter)>: Swaps forms as a bird and fish by clashing tye cymbals on its wings/fins together. The bird form is based off an albatross, the fish form is based off a flying fish.

Asymbolt (Varies)[Angel] <Aquatic + Symbol (of protection in multiple cultures) + [thunder]bolt (from danish folklore) + phonetically similar to a cymbal (referencing the previous kritter)>: It's a tiny reactor, if it dries out it becomes unstable and transforms from a water type to a plasma type. Primarly hunted by Penkussion by diving underwater and disarming it by clapping it with its cymbals. It then transforms into a fish and eats the Asymbolt underwater.

Plagiarito (Evil)[Insect] <Plagiarism + Mosquito>: It siphons power-ups from other kritters, making itself stronger and the others weaker. It lives near lakes and other bodies of water. Generally an awful kritter to be around.

Dinossoil (Earth/Toxin)[Drake] <Pronounced similarly to "Dinosaur" + Dino + Fossil + Oil>: Their bodies are made of crude oil and fossilized bones of ancient drakes. It's said that the souls of the drakes that became the oil were determined to live on, and so this kritter appeared.

Idea for what i want the battle screen to look like kinda. Im a really big fan of slay the spire and paper mario, so I'll probably take inspiration from those.

"Daizily convert all nutrients they consume into alcohol. As a result, they are typically always drunk. In the past their blood was harvested and drank by royals in the place of wine. This practice is now illegal. The kind of drunk that they are differs based off of the color of their petals. White petaled Daizily are a secret drunk; grays are sloppy; pinks are affectionate; yellows are happy; reds are angry; oranges are reckless. For those interested in battling alongside Daizily, I commend you. Like their drunken type, the way their talent works differs with their petals as well! For all Daizily, their talent "Silly Hedonist" has a 50% chance to boost a stat every turn, otherwise it does nothing. The specific stat that gets boosted by its ability is affected by its petals. White petals will heal themself; grays will gain an extra spirit point; pinks will boost strength; yellows will boost dexterity; reds will boost endurance; oranges will boost armor. Daizily are highly unpredictable by nature. They are generally not a threat to humans- so long as you aren't a buzzkill. It's possible that more variants exist, but not very likely. There's an extinct variant of black petaled Daizily that were known for partying far too hard. There's also a few old rumors from distant islands about Daizily with cooler hues like blue and cyan. But, the validity of those rumors is shaky at best."

In order: Babrasive (Metal)[Beast], Daizily (Earth)[Plant], Ayfish (Water)[Fish], Soroboruo (Plasma)[Drake], Mothracary (Toxin)[Insect], Flylash (Pure)[Angel], Audibit (Neutral)[Oddity], and Gremlip (Evil)[Devil].

I also just came up with some ideas for a new kritter called Highscēs (Wind)[Fish], I'll just screenshot the description from my doc.

I decided to add a third type variant called a Bluejacket Highscēs. The name is a play on words with "High Seas" and Pisces. The thought process is that sailors would have been familiar with constellations for navigation. So, they could easily have named a cool guy after that.
