gianna could not HELP the instinct that came over her after what had transpired in italy to distance herself from messy conversations. from people that would know she was acting DIFFERENT. one of those people being joey, who didn’t deserve the cold shoulder that was bestowed upon them when gianna returned from volterra, only to flee home not long after. she had done plenty of keeping her head DOWN, acting as if she did not see them for what felt like ages. maybe it was foolish of her to try and offer an olive branch after all this time, but she does it nonetheless. “uh,” she presses her lips together as she approaches, offering some form of a smile. “hi, joey.” @cloudedunknown
there wasn’t a day that went by where joey did not think of gianna. everything ended so abruptly, and joey never knew why. they were having such a great time in italy until, well until joey had shown up again, after being kidnapped for two days. gianna started acting strange, but never once questioned where joey was. they were hoping to confide in their friend, but instead she left, without even saying goodbye. it still haunts joey to this day.
once they had gotten back to seattle, joey had hoped to reconnect, but gianna evading her for months. eventually joey gave up hope, assuming that gianna was just another person to leave, just another person to walk out of their life.
“uh, hi” joey heard her voice, coming from their right, and looked up. gianna? their brows furrowed. gianna smiled, or was at least trying to, leaving joey speechless. why was she here? why now? after all this time? gathering their thoughts, joey swallowed the lump that had formed in their throat. “uh, hi, i was beginning to think you’d never speak to me again.”
