I have begun a new case. The Case of the Oakwood Family. Murdered in cold blood in their own home, not a single piece of evidence left by the killer.
First I shall illegally enter the long since abandoned property of the Oakwood family.
I have entered the property. It is dark and miserable here. If you decided to live in a dark, terrifying forest and then got murdered, well honestly, you had it coming. Its like begging to be murdered.
The blood is still on the main door. According to police reports, the blood belongs to the eldest son, Matthew Oakwood.
everything remained untouched since the crime took place. The blood is still there, a knocked over vase, muddy foot steps from two different shoes (as in the person was wearing different shoe sizes... not two people...)
most the stuff is still intact, the police didn't really care much about properly investigating The Oakwood Family's murder. Mostly because they were racist and the Oakwood Family was black.
There are some letters that were never sent on the desk in Reginald Oakwood's office room. Most addressed to Louis Parker, a business rival.
There were some letters from Louis Parker as well. They appeared to have been arguing about... I genuinely have no idea what they were arguing over. Some big word.
Louis Parker was Reginald Oakwood's only known enemy. Mr Oakwood was a mostly peaceful individual, didn't tend to get mixed up with the wrong people (Like Louis Parker did).
So far, Louis Parker is the number 1 suspect on the list.
I began checking the drawers of the desk. One of the drawers was locked, so I began searching for a key instead. I found one half out between the pages of a book. I tried it on the lock, didn't work.
Unable to find the key for the drawer, I decided to search other rooms in the meanwhile. Now I was in the shared bedroom of Matthew Oakwood and his younger sister Alicia Oakwood on the second floor. There were, unfortunately, many locked drawers.
I managed to find another key in an unlocked drawer. After trying it on all of the drawers, it finally worked on one in the bottom row. The drawer contained a yellow-paged journal, a nearly burnt note, a photograph of an unknown person, and another key.
I first examined the burnt note. (Sigh). I should've learn to read cursive. Perhaps I could ask my best friend. I sent him a picture of the note. Anyway, then I opened the journal. Again. All cursive. God, I hate people who write in cursive. I might as well just call my best friend here to help me investigate.
I kept the journal aside before checking the photograph. It was of a tall, pale man with rather eerie green eyes and long brown hair, a smile upon his lips. He appeared to be talking to another person that wasn't visible in the picture. The picture appeared to have been taken in secret without the knowledge of the man in the picture.
I checked the back of the picture, there was something written there, in luckily a more readable handwriting. "18 days" with a heart drawn next to it. Odd.
I kept the photograph, journal, and the note in my satchel for later. I grabbed the other key I had found and began testing it on the other locked drawers. None of them worked, it might belong to the drawer in the office room.
So I went back to the office room, tried the key on the lock. No luck. (Sigh). Time to check other rooms then. God there are so many locked drawers and keys here...
Majoritg of the rooms (which were just guest rooms or storage rooms, wow they have a lot) were mostly empty, not sure why they'd need this many. Anyway, then I got to the master bedroom at the end of the hallway. Again. Many locked drawers. This is genuinely irritating now, whats with this family and locked drawers?
The unlocked drawers were mostly empty with an occasional hairpin or a cockroach. I tried the key I had on all the drawers, it finally open one drawer. The drawer contained a box will old love letters. (Sigh). Cursive handwriting. My worst enemy. All I could understand was that it was addressed from Reginald Oakwood to his wife, Amanda Oakwood. They dated back to before Mr and Mrs Oakwood got married, starting from their highschool years.
Not exactly important. The other items in the drawer were some old wedding and family photos. And again, another key. I doubt it'll work on any of these drawers, but might as well try I suppose.
And it didn't.
