Well, I’m glad to fly under the radar on this app, at least I can vent about THIS here because I don't feel ready to share it elsewhere, like on TikTok... I have a boyfriend right now, though it’s confusing because everything happened so fast I didn't have time to react. In fact, the very day after we met, he was already telling me I was pretty and the most interesting girl he’d ever met. And well, there are several issues. First of all, what I mentioned before: everything moved very quickly. Second: the age gap. Even though it’s legal in our respective countries, he’s three years older than me (I’m 16, he’s 19), and the difference in life stages is obvious. My sister and best friend disapprove of the relationship for that very reason, but it seems I’m the only one worried about it, since he hardly ever brings up that detail. Third: we have clear political differences (which is what my drawing is about). He’s right-wing—he even considers himself a conservative—and he idolizes a right-wing candidate from his country (Colombia) who recently seems to have won and has a bad reputation. He seems uncomfortable with the whole LGBTQ+ community; even if he denies it, he comes across as transphobic and homophobic. He’s also against abortion and against feminists defacing monuments as a form of protest. Meanwhile, I support all those things: I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community (I’m apagender and pansexual), I’m pro-choice, and I agree with feminists making themselves heard however they need to. Actually, a few days ago we were on a call and I was screen-sharing, then LGBT posts appeared on my Twitter fyp, and it made my boyfriend so uncomfortable that he got a migraine. I found it so strange... like, how can seeing people who are different from you being happy affect you so deeply that your discomfort turns into a physical reaction?
