Very good album, kinda weak last two tracks but overall excellent.

Music Log, Day 1

In an attempt to get myself to start writing about music I am going to write about one new album I listened to per day. These aren't going to be indepth reviews, more akin to first impressions. Today's album is:

No Pussyfooting by Robert Fripp and Brian Eno

Format: Digital (320kbps mp3)

Thoughts:

I was aware of both Robert Fripp and Brian Eno before starting this album. I knew Robert Fripp from his band King Crimson, and Brian Eno from multiple places, but mostly his amazing album "Another Green World". I have also been dabbling in his Ambient records, specifically Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror. I happened to stumble across this album while purchasing Ambient 3 and 4. I knew the two of them worked together before this, specifically on AGW, but had no idea going into this what to expect. For some reason I was expecting something more guitar and rock heavy but instead this is a drony ambient record. The record itself is split into two separate parts: First half titled "The Heavenly Music Corporation" and the second half titled "Swastika Girls". The digital version I'm listening to then further separates each into multiple parts. Don't really know what else I can say, it's a ambient drone album. A very good one, one that came from earlier tape looping experiments from Eno and the technique of "Frippertronics"
