Every now and then

amelia enjoyed the late breakfast with the coffee before her, happy to be left alone for at least an hour since she came back to ocean from her trip home. at least she hoped she was alone, when the argument not too far away from her took place. caramel hues moved carefully in the direction of the voices, eyebrows striking up when the customer threw their eggs onto clement. she could feel her blood boil and she wasn’t sure exactly when she got up from her seat and grabbed the plate from the stranger’s hand, eying them. “you know, no matter what brand of eggs you eat- it won’t really help the fact that you’re a sad, little, pathetic excuse of a human.” the blonde growled, pushing the plate into the table so hard a crack appeared on it’s white surface. “now get lost before i shove my heel so far up your–” her voice raised, realizing now she was shifting the attention towards her, which was not ideal in her situation, so a sigh left her lips before she could finish her sentence. amelia turned to the girl with a little apologetic smile. “are you okay?”

Clementine stood in silence as Amelia approached. She knew that the girl had a switch but she’d never seen her get so upset before. “Yeah...I’m good.” Clem eyed her,  looking the girl up and  down. She had no clue why all of the sudden Amelia cared. It’s not like they had spoken to each other recently, most of the time Clem found herself avoiding her altogether. “Thanks.” she couldn’t help but to have a sharp tone as she spoke. By then the manager had stepped in and whisked the customer away, telling everyone there was nothing to see. “What are you doing here?” Clem asked as the crowd began to disperse. 

Penelope teasingly glared at the other. “The last time my delightful room-mates decided to throw one, which was like two weeks ago? Although I don’t really know if hiding out in my room counts as going to a party.” She laughed. “I don’t know, maybe in a retirement home.” 

“Don’t make me hold you to it.” Clementine laughed and shook her head, “I’ll pull up on my power chair and we will paint the town red even in our 90′s.” Not that Clem expected to make it that long but hey, here’s to being optimistic. “So why did you sign up for summer school again?” 

the entire encounter in the store made him uncomfortable to watch but honestly it was a train wreck and he was into it. weaving through the other customers in front of him, finn shook his head, lifting a hand to get clem’s attention. “don’t do it. don’t do it. trust me.” 

Clem was just about to continue when someone made their way through the small crowd. Her eyes followed the sound of his voice as she looked at the man, her face unreadable. “Listen, I don’t need anyone to get involved.” she turned her eyes back to the customer. “I will discuss your prestigious taste in eggs with our manager.” Her voice was low and slightly threatening. “As for now i’m going to get a drink.” Clem then rolled her eyes and made her way through the crowd.
