Taking the compact from her, he uses the bill to take a quick whiff of the powdery line on the mirror, handing it back only to pinch his nose for a few moments and sniffle. “Yeah… n-no, it’s…” He begins his thought, though he is clearly caught up in his initial high. Rolling his neck, he leans back comfortably, eyes wide. “It’s not really smiled upon. I-I mean, plenty of people in my industry are into this crap and we all know it, but… Oliver Bu, a coke-head? Th-That would not look great.” He huffs a single laugh. “So, uh… you seem like you know your way around it… are you a regular?” He inquires curiously. “W-What do you do that got you mixed up with snow?”

   “i mean, nobody said that they were my go to drink! sometimes i’m just in the mood for them, you know?” maxi told her, letting himself shrug his shoulders for a moment. “i drink plenty of other things, not really beer, though, it’s kind of gross.”

   “i suppose i will, then.” the man shrugs as he takes another sip of the martini that sat between his finger tips. there’s a chuckle falling from his lips, shaking his head. “i enjoy my martinis. besides, i don’t only drink martinis, i like to expand my drinking horizons.”

A smile crept onto his face as she turned to him, giving him her utmost attention, her hands finding his. “Yeah, we have something good. But we could have something great.” Whatever man she needed him to be, he simply would be. Surely, she knew of the many string of hearts he left behind him, but this could be different. “You’ll never know, because you’re too afraid to find out.” He stared at their hands, perfectly intertwined, hers warm where his were cold. But that was of no surprise, not when she was pure sunshine in the form of a living being. He just needed one good girl to change him, set him on the right path. Claudia could be that girl, all he had to do was get her to consider him.

Oliver holds out his hand to link his pinky with hers and tug lightly before letting go. “Thank you.” He sighs with relief, watching her retrieve her compact mirror. He himself produces a small glass snuff bottle with a spoon attached to the lid inside the white powder that fills it. “Y-Yeah, see… no one really knows about… this.” He tells her as he untwists the cap, giving a hefty tap of cocaine from the glass onto her mirror, and then another. “Here…” His lips form a crooked grin. “I-It’s– sort of hard not to get into this stuff when everyone you work around is always on it… I mean… I’ve been huffing this crap for years. They call it a crucial part o-of, uh… of the model diet.” He jokes, getting out his wallet to hand her a one hundred dollar bill to roll up. “But god, more people than I’d rather already know about my habit, and… I’d get wrecked if people knew I was just another coked up model.” Oliver clears his throat, taking a spoonful to hold up to a nostril, index finger pinching down the other as he inhales heavily with his eyes shut tightly. He sniffles at the fireworks that go off in the back of his head from the initial blow, deciding to take yet another bump and repeating the action before twisting the vile closed. Pinching the bridge of his nose with his eyes wide and alert now, he shakes his silky hair out. “I-I’’ve got the best snow in the city– trust me.” He can’t help but laugh as the bitterness drips from his nasal passage to his throat, tossing his head back against the couch. 

“  hey  ,  i  totally  get  that  .  it’s  definitely  on  the  lower  end  of  the  scale  when  it  comes  to  the  kind  of  art  that  can  be  profitable  .  dance  is  like  that  in  a  way  too  .  there  are  dozens  of  dancers  out  there  ,  but  less  than  a  handful  actually  get  to  doing  something  professional  with  it  .  even  those  that  do  can  end  up  having  short  careers  ,  ”  she  says  knowingly  .  clearly  ,  that  wasn’t  the  case  with  izzy  as  her  talent  was  enough  to  get  her  a  semblance  of  celebrity  status  .  “  your  writing  though  .  .  .  ”  she  turns  the  conversation  back  to  claudia  ,  “  is  there  a  specific  genre  you  dabble  in  the  most  ?  admittedly ,  i’m  a  sucker  for  romance  ,  ”  she  flinches  ,  a  shy  smile  on  her  lips  knowing  her  preference  is  a  cliche  .  it  was  a  guilty  pleasure  of  hers  reading  about  tumultuous  relationships  that  concluded  with  a  happy  ending  .  the  many  sweet  finales  she  read  were  ones  she  secretly  wanted  herself  ,  but  believed  she’d  never  get  as  she  lacked  stable  enough  relationships  to  ever  get  there  . 

claudia  takes  a  minute  to  think  over  her  response  because  she’s  been  dabbling  here  &  there  on  many  different  genres  because  it  leaves  the  playing  field  immensely  open  for  her  to  really  progress  further  .  “  i  love  romance  ,  i  was  more  into  the  idea  of  poetry  because  i  really  do  enjoy  writing  poems  most  days  but  i  love  a  good  romance  work  .  novel  ,  novella  ,  you  name  it  and  i  probably  obsess  over  it  .  i  also  really  enjoy  horror  anything  ?  that’s  such  a  weird  thing  because  most  people  tend  to  read  goosebumps  and  think  that’s  the  entirety  of  good  horror  reads  .  so  yeah  i  love  writing  romance  ,  horror  ,  pretty  much  whatever  .  the  only  way  to  really  avoid  ending  up  with  writer’s  block  is  to  keep  consistent  on  reading  but  also  using  that  base  for  inspo  for  your  own  stuff  .  ”  she  adds  with  her  own  exasperated  nervous  laughter  ,  fingertips  tapping  against  the  underside  of  her  phone  case  when  holding  her  phone  in  hand  ;  a  distracting  action  agent  while  she  speaks  .  “  what’s  your  favorite  ones  to  read  ?  unless  you’re  more  of  a  part  -  time  reader  ,  which  is  totally  cool  by  the  way  .  i  just  like  to  see  what  other  people  fancy  reading  in  their  free  time  .  or  are  you  more  of  a  visual  arts  sort  of  gal  ?  because  if  so  .  .  .  we  can  talk  about  art  literally  all  day  as  far  as  i  care  !  ”  claudia  simplifies  with  a  shrug  to  her  shoulders  .

    “what, too much negativity around here these days?” maxi questions, letting a chuckle fall from his lips for a moment before shaking his head. “not really, it’s been a while. so, i’ll pass, thanks. i’ll stick to my martinis.”

   there’s a shrug that’s coming from the man’s shoulder, martini glass coming up to his lips as he took a sip. “i’m just trying to keep some positive energy, even if it kind of sucks.” he states with another shrug of his shoulders.
