March 16, 1974 - 43 Years Ago Today: The Jackson 5 had the Hot Shot Debut at No. 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with their single, “Dancing Machine.” The single became their 14th consecutive Top 30 hit when it peaked at No. 2 for two weeks beginning May 18, 1974. “Dancing Machine” also enjoyed a single week at No. 1 on the Billboard R&B Chart and was written by Hal Davis, Donald Fletcher and Weldon Parks. The Jackson 5 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

December 11, 1971 - 45 Years Ago Today: The Jackson 5 debuted at No. 72 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their single, “Sugar Daddy.” This was their 9th chart entry and it became their 8th Top 20 and 7th Top Ten following 4 consecutive No. 1’s and 2 singles which stalled at No. 2. The single was written by Berry Gordy, Fonce Mizell, Freddie Perren and Deke Richards.
