Does everyone remember back when our theory was that Clarke was gonna take Madi and leave in 5x06 without having time to tell Bellamy about it, which would piss him the fuck off when he found out she was gone in 5x07, and then in 5x08 we’d get our Hakeldama 2.0 where they would…you know…TALK???? And things would be really tense with them for the next few days. Because Bellamy would be hurt that she left without saying goodbye, thinking she doesn’t care about him as much as he does her. But then Madi would tell him about the radio calls and he’d be like, holy shit, she does care and has been in love with me for 6+ years.
Because that should have happened. Instead, we got Clarke leaving Bellamy to die, which only makes sense if you think really really hard about Clarke’s mental state because Jroth failed to focus on the bisexual lead’s trauma again and the audience had to fill in the blanks. Instead, we got Bellamy and the audience thinking it was easy for Clarke to leave him behind to die until Madi tells him about the radio calls. Instead, we got…a complete mess that was a disservice to both Clarke and Bellamy.
And yes, I know that the radio calls were addressed as I said above (in the first paragraph). HOWEVER, what lead up to them being addressed was…really shitty. Clarke should have left without saying goodbye in 5x06 instead of knowingly leaving him to die in 5x09. The first is in character. The second one could be but wasn’t because Jroth essentially made Clarke a background character, so…there wasn’t much to explain her behavior, and passing it off as that of a mother was terrible writing because…
1. that’s telling instead of showing and
2. just not how mothers act which I’ve said a million times, I know, okay? But I’m still v mad about it. Don’t @ me.
