Logan knew he had to stay hidden, he had to stay out of range in order to keep himself out of Zaneâs grasp long enough to get the upper hand, or at least try too. Logan also knew that he had to switch guns, the hand gun wouldnât help him much in the situation. He put the safety on and tucked the gun away for now, before he grabbed the rifle that was strapped across his back. He moved to another location silently, figuring that it was best to move around rather than to stay in one place. He took cover behind one of the bigger trees, lifted the gun slightly so it was pressed in the groove of his shoulder and took aim, looking through the scope that was equipped on the rifle. He spotted Zane, Clark, and Cassandra who he had seen just before she went invisible, he had a feeling sheâd come looking for him meaning he had to keep an ear out for her. Logan continued looking through the scope until he saw Kaden on the ground, it was clear that Zane had control over him. Logan clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes, he pointed the gun at the ground near Zaneâs feet and pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting the ground a few feet away from his feet wanting to get his attention and he was sure that would do the trick. â Let him go Patel!â he yelled out to him, â That first shot was a warning and I donât want to hurt anyone, but Iâm not above shooting anyone in the leg.â he called out, â I can promise you, I wonât miss.â he added, he wasnât messing around. He moved again, finding another tree to take cover behind and aimed the rifle once more.

Rosalie had been running, hiding, helping those who were injured to a safe house, and looking for someone to help her free Kaden, ever since she had gotten out of Zaneâs grasp. Thankfully, the woman didnât have to keep searching. Since she was in her shadow form, Rosalie was able to stay quiet and out of sight to anyone who wasnât looking. In that moment she was a few feet away from Logan and had quickly looked up to see where he was exactly. Shit, she thought knowing that single shot could have possibly given away his location. Looking back at the group that Kaden was with, Rosalie also noticed the other woman was gone-more like vanished. Also, not good. She glared at Zane in her shadow form and glanced back at Logan hoping he could handle himself for a little while and knew she also needed to buy him some time. She had hoped to speak with him and tell him she was on his side but she knew that any interaction or conversation could endanger him even more. So instead, Rosalie would take care of the woman who had vanished into thin air.
Because Rosalie had spent most of her life in the shadows and catching every little details they provided, she easily picked up on any little irregularity in the way light or lack of light hit certain objects. Yes, it had started to get darker but that only helped Rosalie stay even more in the shadows and blend in wherever she needed to. In this case, blend in and carefully observe any change in dimensions or sounds one who was clocked could possibly make. All Rosalie knew was that no doubt the woman would be searching for Logan but right now, she assumed the girl was standing still since she saw no irregularities. Shit, she thought and took a deep breath as she came out of her shadow form and did her best to draw the attention away from Logan; she just prayed that the man was a good shot and quick. âAww, why are we hiding?â She paused as she shifted back into her shadow form and then once more into her human one, âToo afraid to fight? Why donât we stop these foolish games Zane and just let Kaden go already.â She glared at them all and blended herself into a treeâs shadow.

Zane glanced towards Cassandra, watching her disappear after he spoke. He smirked, knowing that if she had only practiced a little bit more, she might have been able to cloak all of them. But now wasnât the time to complain or lecture her on her power. His eyes then moved towards Clark, shrugging his shoulders before glancing towards Kaden. âNot sure. He canât really use it if Iâm in control so I didnât even bother looking.â
Kaden wanted to shake his head back and forth. His phone was the only thing that could connect him to help. Not that he could use it, considering his circumstances in that moment. But he didnât want them to take it away. âN-no.â Kaden managed to get out as he was pulled by his blood towards Zane.Â
Zane just smirked as he shoved his hands into Kadenâs pockets, pulling out his cell phone. âHere, go wild.â He threw it towards Clark before turning towards the sound. And then there was a gunshot right near his feet. His eyebrows rose and an amused grim played on his lips. âAnd I can promise you that Iâll damage him so much more if you actually pulled that trigger on one of us.â Zane said to Logan. âSo Iâll give you a choice.â He began walking towards the voices. He heard Rosalie as well. âYou too Rose. You can walk away now without a scratch on you or you can stay and experience some of the worst pain in your life.â He closed his eyes, feeling around until he felt one of their blood. It was closer now. He could easily grab it and manipulate them. âYour choice.â

Cassandra heard Rosalieâs voice, sticking with her decision to go after the gunman. She trusted Zane to take care of Rosalie, especially with Clark in tow. She followed the shot backwards to the treeline, but figured, if this man was as good of a shot as he said he was, he would have moved by now. Cass moved as silently as she could, looking for any movement in the trees, either from the shadows or the leaves. She fought the urge to chant âcome out come out wherever you are!â. She quickly realized if she could flush one of both of them out closer to the open, Zane could latch onto their blood almost immediately. Standing just inside the treeline, Cass made her steps a little louder, hoping that Rosalie would take the bait and come for her.Â

Clark caught Kadenâs phone. A guardâs phone was so much more useful than a residents. So much more they had access to - which was stupid really, but hey, he just did what he was told. He kept CCTV up on Flynnâs phone, not needing Kadenâs for now but it would be best to make sure the male didnât have it, just in case. He was fully aware that out of the group right now, he was the weakest. The one that couldnât do much of anything. The only thing he had going for him was technology, but without instructions from Jay or someone else higher than himself in The Rising Power he wasnât to do much. He could cut the power, cut the cameraâs, but both those things were also helping him and those on his side. âI suggest you listen to Patel. Let us pass, and no one else needs to get hurt. I can promise you, youâll both come off worse.âÂ
Shadows. Weakness, light. Maybe he would do just the opposite of getting rid of the power. They had flood lights, for emergencies. If there were some nearby, could that weaken at least Rosalie? He had to try. He used Kadenâs phone to get into the system, to control what he needed to control and sure enough, nearby flood lights shone brightly through the trees, illuminating the space around them. Maybe theyâd even spot Logan... Clark hoped so. Anybody with a gun was dangerous, no matter what side they were on.Â
