[Derek smiled, standing up slowly with the baby.] Come on, I wanna cuddle. [He headed for the stairs, carrying the baby into his room and laying him down in his crib. Derek grabbed the monitor and then headed back downstairs to lock up and set the alarm. By the time he got to his bedroom, he had already pulled off his shirt and pants.]

[Clark took his time heading up the stairs, kissing Jude on the forehead before heading to their bedroom. He stripped down to his boxer briefs and a t-shirt before getting into bed. When Derek came into the room, he opened his arms to his husband.] C'mere, handsome.

Holy fucking overtime.

[Derek sighed, looking over at Clark and leaning into him. He smiled down at Jude and gently took him out of Clark's arms. Derek held him firmly as he settled against his husband's chest.] You must be tired too, then. [He tilted his head up and kissed Clark's jaw.] We can put him to bed soon and go upstairs if you want.

[Clark let Derek take Jude from his arms and wrapped them around his husband.] Yeah, guess I did. Might be good to let put him to bed now. He's already sleeping so nicely. I'll wake up with him if he wakes up tonight. [He kissed Derek's cheek and smiled.]

[Derek placed his hands carefully against Clark's shoulders, kissing him back and holding it for a few moments. His kiss was grounding and it was what he needed most right now. After a few seconds, Derek pulled back and then sat at Clark's feet, but not before kissing the top of Jude's head.] God I'm glad I'm home. Today was brutal. So brutal.

[Clark moved so that his feet were on the other side of the couch so he could cuddle up to his husband, Jude still in his arms and fidgeting as he was moved. Giving Derek a sympathetic glance, he wrapped and arm around his shoulder, letting his hand run through his hair.] I'm sorry. If it makes you feel better, I'm glad you're home too. Jude's been a little moody today. Misses his daddy.

[Derek walked into the living room, loosening his tie and unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt. He forced a smile, his eyes tired from the work before.] Hey, babe. [Derek said with a smile, rubbing his face in an attempt to wash away the exhaustion.]

[Clark had been lying on his back with Jude against his chest, both sleeping. Jude had been restless and finicky all day, and finally getting him to nap had prompted Clark to do the same after an almost sixteen hour writing shift--during which brief pauses were made to play with the baby and take care of him. Jude was so distracting, in fact, that he'd found he'd barely gotten anything done. But when Derek came into the room, he gave him a sleepy smile and sat up, careful not to jostle Jude too much before tugging Derek down to him with his loosened tie, pressing their lips together.] Hi. 

I think I have a problem...

Yeah…work can make that happen. We definitely should. Things are…well it’s a little hectic at the moment, but things are slowly starting to get back to normal. They’re great, they miss their favorite uncle though.

Oh good. Normal is definitely good. Hey, I miss them too. And I think Jude is developing a bit of cabin fever staying cooped up in here with me while I write. He'd definitely like to see his aunt!

Yeah…it’d be pretty gross. So how have you been? I feel like we’ve barely seen each other lately.

I've been alright. I feel like I've barely seen Derek lately and we're married. I'm just writing all the time. But we should try to get together soon. How are things going? How are the kids?
